cstrick Posted November 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2007 We are booked on the PG next November. Regent is taking care of the air and hotel also. Is there any way that we can request the non stop ( 1 stop) out of JFK? I'm willing to pay the deviation fee. It would just make the trip shorter for us. We usually arrange our own air but doing it through Regent seems seamless.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted November 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2007 Well you can ask your TA which way they would route you, given where you live. And keeping in mind that ATN does not fly direct from NY every day. I suppose you could request that as a deviation if they wanted to route you otherwise. What do you mean by "non-stop" (1-stop)? I actually like the forced overnight in L.A.
cstrick Posted November 12, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted November 12, 2007 The flight from JFK is listed as a non stop but in the fine print it says a stop at LAX. Sounds strange to me. But time wise is is much shorter.
beaniele Posted November 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2007 We are using Regent Air/Hotel program for an April 08 cruise. They had booked us on a flight to Ft. Lauderdale with a stop and change of planes. I asked if we could go non-stop to Miami, less likely to lose our luggage on a non-stop flight, and they were very nice and re-booked our flight. That meant they would have to pick us up in Miami and get us to Ft. Lauderdale but that was not a problem. They also pick up the hotel as we have to fly in a day early, being on the West coast. Regent for us has always seemed to help us in anyway possible.
Leonid Posted November 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2007 So nice living in the Western US. DW & I will be flying down to LA and will probably be staying over near LAX. Then on to FP.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted November 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2007 Yes indeed, the trek from the east coast is not fun. On the other hand, the tables are turned if you're cruising from Florida.
bettywh Posted November 14, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2007 It is my understanding that if you pay the $100 deviation you can chose which air you want as long it is with a Regent contract carrier. I haven't used Regent Air in 2 years but this was their policy at that time.
neviboy Posted November 15, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Of course, one cannot use air miles to upgrade. I tried it last week.
canadagal Posted November 15, 2007 #9 Share Posted November 15, 2007 You can however, get to the airport early and try and purchase an upgrade to business class for a lot less then booking it flat out with Regent at the time of booking. Sometimes there are seats available for upgrade purchase and sometimes not. Pat
Coastal Jewel Posted January 14, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Probably a stupid question...But can you pay for a deviation and select a non-Regent Hub Airport? We live about 4 to 6 hours from any of the Regent select airports. Thx.
egret Posted January 16, 2008 #11 Share Posted January 16, 2008 I think they will book you from any airport for the $100 per person deviation. We fly from Baton Rouge since driving up from New Orleans after an overnight flight and all day air travel sojurn is painful to contemplate.
