tigercruiser Posted June 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2004 has anyone ever done a flightseeing trip out of Juneau to Glacier Bay? our ship doesn't visit Glacier Bay, and this appears to be our only option to see it. Is it worth it? will we see much?
Budget Queen Posted June 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Viewing glaciers from the top vs from the water is very different and Glacier Bay- in my opinion is best seen by boat. I find "glacier flights" only ok compared to helicopter glacier landings- so that would be my recommendation and choose a Glacier Bay sailing next trip. Consider Coastal out of Juneau. But search- there used to be an operator that landed in glacier bay??? I have no idea if this is still available?
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Glacier Bay Agree with Budget Queen, the best way to see Glacier Bay is by ship. We have done it several times. You get to see more of the caving this way. Flying over the glaciers - okay - but actually landing on them - great.
