latino8100 Posted November 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2007 I'm looking at the repo cruise on "Vision of Seas" Jan. 4 2009. The tempatures look pretty decent for that time of year from port to port. Should I go balcony or ocean view? Thanks.

cruzincurt Posted November 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2007 We started off with windows, it's pretty much the same as having any inside cabin. All you get is outside light. No comparison to a balcony where you can step outside whenever you want. Depending on the side of the ship and the winds you might not want to sit on the balcony while sailing. We like to sit out when in port or when we are on the windless side while sailing. We know typically which side to be on depending on the ports so we are not staring at the ship parked next to us in port. Nothing like spending part of the afternoon sitting on our balcony at St. Thomas overlooking the harbor and the city.
critterchick Posted November 22, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2007 And since you're going through the Panama Canal, I'd say a balcony would make for a nice private viewing area, too. I'd always pick a balcony over an OV unless the price difference was huge (and "huge" is dependent on everybody's individual finances).
cravingacruz!! Posted November 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2007 definitly go for the balcony! I am on the vision in march of 08 and i will let you know how the balconys are:D - they might vary from ship to ship, but the balcony i was on last spring was very nice to have! Happy cruising to all!
Honey's Gal Posted November 22, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2007 If you are going thru the PC, definitely a balcony. When we did the PC cruise, it was so darn hot and humid, we were thrilled to have the balcony to view part of the passing thru as opposed to standing up on the hot steamy deck.... Get some cool drinks sit back and relax
Kruzeagain Posted November 23, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2007 The responses came quickly because it's such an easy choice---balcony. Room service breakfast--on your balcony. Your very own reserved outdoor seating (no chair hogs)--on your balcony. Romantic evening interludes--on your balcony. The sound of the sea--on your balcony. I could go on and on. Take the plunge, and please drop us all a note of thanks when you get back. Happy Cruising, Alan
Priusprof Posted November 23, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2007 I agree with all the other responses. Balcony for sure. Especially for the trans canal part. Those that say the cabin is only for sleeping probably have never enjoyed the experience of having their morning coffee on the private balcony. Or the moving around space of the larger cabin. mamaza Posted November 23, 2007 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2007 last cruise we had a Balcony, so this time I promised myself that on our next cruise that we'd take a Promenade room or an inside or a OV guar. Well, I stuck to my guns and ...... I booked the balcony. They are so great for all the aforementioned reasons.
