Hi..we will be cruising the Western Carib over the Christmas holiday. How cool is it on the ship in the evening when sailing? On the days when we are at sea, will is be warm enough for a skirt/shorts? Does it get breezy when sailing?

This our familie's "first" cruise and we are trying to figure how to pack..and not over pack, if that's possible!! ;)

Nights inside the ship can be quite cool because the ship is air conditioned. Days at sea can be quite warm and very breezy on the top decks because the trip is traveling fast. Shorts and a skirt should be good in December. Daytime on ships at sea tend to be very casual. Nights on at sea days often include the formal night.

The inside of the ship will remains the same no matter where you sail.

Sometimes public areas on ships can get cool. That is because they set the temperature based on lots of people being in the room and until some of the rooms fill up they can be quite cool. So it's a good idea to take a sweater with you just in caes you get cold.

When you are out on the open deck how breezy it feels is really dependent on the weather conditions such as wind speed. There will be times that you will be outside and there will be very little wind on the open deck and other times where it is more windy. And, it depends where you go on the ship as well.

The temperatures are likely to be quite nice where you can where shorts out on deck. You might want to also look up the average temperatures for places that you will be visiting to help you with what you will take. A web site I use is

Have a wonderful time.
