completing personalizer NECESSARY?

We leave in January for our cruise. We have completed the personalizer up to the point of adding our credit card info. At this time I'm not sure which credit card we want on file. Does it make a lot of difference if we DON'T add the credit card and print our boarding passes ahead of time? Does it take lots of extra time checking in?

They make it simple.

  • passport information is required for the online boarding pass
  • credit information is required for the online boarding pass.
  • Final payment is required for the online boarding pass.

You do have the option at check-in of having an alternate credit card impression made. We've done it, and the one you present at check-in is the one they charge your shipboard account to.

I know it's supposed to work, but we have had a couple of problems with trying to switch cards during check in. Not a big deal, but the switch we wanted didn't happen. Princess swiped the card and all that, but the final bill was still charged to the card we originally entered in the cruise personalizer. We do check our print-out every several days, but didn't check that - oh well, I got the miles and she didn't. :)

It's a good idea to always get a copy of your onboard account a couple of times a week, as you did, and with a credit card switch, confirm that the correct card is being charged.

I just type in any number ..... as a matter of fact... use mine....9999999999..............they never check. ;)

I then give them my "real" card at the pier. :D
