Lattitude members boarding early

I just became a lattitude member and I am traveling with my son and friends who are not members. Can they board early with me?

Be aware you will not necessarily have early boarding because you are a Latitudes member. Yes, you will have a separate check-in line because of this. The boarding process varies greatly depending on which port you are departing from.

Which port are you departing from? This will help refine your answers.

It is probably worthwhile asking more than one official politely if there is a latitudes line. There have been two instances where one person who was asked said that there was none such, and the second person asked whisked us way to the front and had us getting photo IDd within minutes of asking.

First was New Orleans [which in their defense was their first post-Katrina cruise and generally just a horrid mess in total] and the second was in NYC recently.

Departing on the Spirit from New York last July, there was an upstairs waiting area for Latitudes and Suites. The embarkation line began with wedding parties and then with those waiting in this upstairs area.

Thanks ---I never saw an "upstairs" on the NY piers. just 3 sections--one with chairs(the earliest arrivals) and the sides (standing lines).I had better ask...:o where it is when I get there...

Last yr we showed our latitude cards for check in and the lady would'nt let us go upstairs, she told us to stay downstairs with everyone else, that was in NY. We probably will not try again, since this will be out 4th cruise from Ny and we usually don't have a long wait in the regular line. :)

I don't think Latitudes status entitles you to early check-in. There will be multiple kiosks once you enter the terminal - your cruise tickets will be checked and you will be directed to one of the kiosks. You will then enter a larger area where you will be directed to wait for boarding. If you are a suite pax, you will be directed (or escorted as we were) to a special area for suite pax where you can relax prior to boarding. We arrived at the terminal at approximately 11:30 AM and were onboard by noontime.

Often the Latitudes lines are longer than the general lines - anyone who cruises NCL more than once is entitled to Latitude membership so it's conceivable that on any given cruise, a HUGE portion of pax are Latitude members.

You'll have a great time and again, unless you're in a suite, require assistance with boarding (wheelchair, very young children, etc), there is no early boarding to the best of my knowledge. Those requiring assistance board first, then suite pax and from there on it it may just be general boarding but I can't swear.

My boys were 4 and 6 on our last NCL cruise- the attendants pulled us out of line and escorted us to a suite line :)

They won us over from that point on :)
