relo854 Posted December 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2007 When does the pricing/schedules/etc come out for the 2009 Alaska cruise season...we want to book early!! thanks.
NancyIL Posted December 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2007 In the past, Carnival was the first to be available in February. RCI/Celebrity were available in April, Princess in May, and HAL was dead last in late May or later. I am clueless about NCL.

NancyIL Posted December 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2007 I see it now, thanks! Carnival must be REALLY anxious to get the early-booking Alaska cruiser! On the other end of the spectrum - HAL seems to irritate quite a few people by being the very last to release info, and to initially book balcony cabins only for those going on their cruisetours. australian_girl Posted December 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted December 13, 2007 No prob :D I think the info should be released as soon as possible... makes life easier :)
Luckysll Posted December 14, 2007 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2007 Just booked 4 cabins for the Sept. 2/09 sailing round trip out of Vancouver!! Two oceanview cabins - one for my daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren; one for a couple of friends who will be on their first ever cruise. One inside cabin for my Dad. One balcony cabin for me. Pat Yes, I'm on that cruise, too. Funny thing is, when I was booking the cabins, I was on the phone to my PVP and looking at the Carnival site to figure out what cabins I wanted. When we finally decided on the outside cabins, when she went to book them, one wasn't showing as available and she was amazed that someone else was already booked and in the very cabin that I wanted!! I'm actually paying for 3 of the cabins (thanks to some major casino wins lately), and my friend, who has never cruised before but always wanted to, is SO excited, she's already looking at dresses for the formal night and applying for her and her husband's passports. I'm not sure she'll survive the next almost 2 years. :)
australian_girl Posted December 15, 2007 #13 Share Posted December 15, 2007 Check to see if the other cabin is available on travelocity, sometimes the cabins get blacked out then show up available.
cruisin'mama Posted December 29, 2007 #14 Share Posted December 29, 2007 Now that Carnival is out SO EARLY, do you think the other lines will follow suit and be available earlier too? I hope so, I'd love to get booked sooner rather than wait for later!
NancyIL Posted December 29, 2007 #15 Share Posted December 29, 2007 Now that Carnival is out SO EARLY' date=' do you think the other lines will follow suit and be available earlier too? [/quote'] Nope. I don't think other cruiselines consider Carnival, with its one ship in Alaska, to be much competition. Carnival also owns Princess and HAL, and HAL has been the last one to come out with their Alaska itineraries in May or June.
