Hi all:

I'm trying to book a caribbean cruise in the winter/spring but there are so many choices: east, south, west, etc. and so many ports. I'm interested in scenery mostly. We would like to visit the most beautiful places in caribbean and don't care so much for activities or culture. any suggestions??

thanks everyone,

eela

Trinidad has major 'eco' too

but few cruise ships go there!

It's not a "typically Caribbean" island - more like a South American island.

And it's big,too... 1800+ square miles of rolling hills and savannahs,

interesting wetlands and a Northern Range that gets up to 3,000 ft. elevations!

Trinidad has amazing bird life, with over 400 species

most of them South American - the big continent is less than 15 miles away!

Day tourists can visit the Caroni Bird Sanctuary

and the Asa Wright facility high in the Northern Range

to see and hear bell-birds and other amazing avifauna

Trinidad is no little coralline island in the middle of a bright turquoise sea.

It's quite different to the other (more typical) tourist islands

- maybe that's why the cruise ships rarely visit this unique island.

Trinidad a land of contrasts - and rich in oil.
