readytolose Posted December 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2007 Is it possible to have 6 people in the owners suite on Navigator? It would be my husband and I, and at the time of sailing ages would be 18 year old daughter, 14 and 12 year old sons and 2 year old grandson. I'm not sure if it is even allowed to have that many people in the room. What would you do? If my other daughter comes along I would definitely get another room, but if she doesn't can we all fit into one? If not the owners suite are there any that can fit 6? or 7? TwoTravelin Posted December 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2007 Unlike hotels, cruiselines cannot/do not allow capacity rules to be broken. With that being said though, if the 2 year old can be accomodated in a crib, then it may be ok, if the room can accomodate 5. Have you considered a Family Suite? cb at sea Posted December 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2007 I really doubt that you would want that many in there anyway! Yes, it's a large cabin, but you essentially have 4 adult-sized people--too many for comfort! Look into 2 rooms, either next door, acrss the hall, or connecting. Much better comfort level! readytolose Posted December 19, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted December 19, 2007 I will probably do two rooms I was just curious how many people can fit into the larger rooms. Since I always look online it only allows you to book 4 people at a time so I didn't know what the max in a room was. What is the biggest room and how many does it sleep? There is part of me that thinks since it is a family vacation it would be fun to all be together in one room, but then the sensible and sane part of me KNOWS I would not want all of us to be squished into one room. Besides, I would probably feel better with my daughter and the 2 year old in an inside without a balcony anyways! I remember reading at one time that there are some inside rooms that connect with a balcony room but I can't remember what ship that was. Anybody know? Also, how do you book a promenade room? I never see them in the room selection when looking online.
wrp96 Posted December 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 19, 2007 Your options for 5 people (or more) on RCCL ships: Grand Suites and Owners Suites - RCCL will allow you to put a 5th person in these suites. They bring in a rollaway bed for the 5th person. Family Inside Stateroom - requires a minimum of 5 people to book, holds max 6 people. All of our Family Staterooms can accommodate up to six people, with two twin beds, sofa and/or Pullman beds. Other amenities include a minibar and sitting area. Family Promenade Stateroom - requires a minimum of 5 people to book, holds max 6 people. All of our Family Staterooms can accommodate up to six people, with two twin beds, sofa and/or Pullman beds. Other amenities include a minibar and sitting area. Family Oceanview Stateroom - requires a minimum of 5 people to book, holds max 6 people. All of our Family Ocean View Staterooms can accommodate up to six people, with two twin beds, sofa and/or Pullman beds. Other amenities include a minibar (except on Vision of the Seas) and sitting area. Royal Family Suite - requires a minumum of 5 people to book, holds a max of 8 people. Has 2 bedrooms AND 2 bathrooms, plus because it is a suite you get concierge lounge access (on ships that have a concierge lounge). On most ships, our Royal Family Suite has enough space to accommodate eight people, with two bedrooms including four twin beds, two Pullman beds and a double sofa bed. All have a separate living area, two bathrooms, vanity area and refrigerator, among their amenities. Presidential Family Suite - requires a minimum of 8 people to book, holds a max of 14 people. The Presidential Family Suite has four bathrooms, a spacious living area with entertainment center and flat screen TV. The private balcony includes a whirlpool, wet bar, lounge chairs and an al fresco dining area that seats fourteen. Be aware that not every ship has all the family staterooms. You have to call RCCL or book with a travel agent in order to book more than 4 people in a room.

wrp96 Posted December 19, 2007 #8 Share Posted December 19, 2007 I remember reading at one time that there are some inside rooms that connect with a balcony room but I can't remember what ship that was. Anybody know? Voyager class has a balcony with a connecting door to an inside stateroom. 9676/9681, 9376/9381. Freedom class does as well. 9696/9701, and 9396/9401 Voyager class and Freedom class also have a balcony with a connecting door to an outside stateroom. 9518/9520, 9218/9220. Also, how do you book a promenade room? I never see them in the room selection when looking online. I believe the regular promenade rooms only hold a max of 2 people, so if you are trying to book for 3 or more people they won't come up as an option.
