It sounds like it has been some kind of late summer for y'all down there. It has been soooo dry here. I think it's like the driest Sept. on the record books or something like that.

The new thread for the DEW is similiar to "start you scales 10-7-04." Go look at it and see if you are interested.

Lisa, where are you? Haven't seen you on here or the DEW thread! Hope all is well.

Dry...the complete opposite here! And now there is something headed this way from the Gulf of Mexico! I can't wait!!!

OK..I'm gonna check that site.

I don't usually like to weigh in more than once a week though!:)

To much margin of error and if I gain I get cranky!

I'm here I'm here sorry I've been backed up with school stuff haven't had a chance to be online. I'm down a total of 7lbs since I started back up again last week. So I'm into the second week now hoping to continue to see the scales going down. Hopefully I will check in more this week last week I had so many college deadlines I had no time for anything it seemed. Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Glad I could be of help hehe. The one thing I miss so much right now is hot chocolate and chai I absoultley (I can't spell tonight) have to figure out if I can have some of that because it is cold here! Tonight it's going to be upper 20's or low 30's. 3 more days till weigh in doing a losing dance hope it goes down a lot more :)

Hope to be on the Horizon, June 2004. My kids teachers are thinking about striking so it could be an end to the cruise (or if we have more than 4-5 days of snow). Scheduled it close to school letting out, since usually their summer gets pretty filled up. They are juniors this year and think we may be visiting colleges next summer. Also didn't want to go to Bermuda too late in summer because DH is sensitive to heat.

Wow, 2 cruises planned. I'm jealous!:p

Boy...that would rot to have to cancel a cruise cause of a teachers strike....

All of our kids are grown..that is why we can cruise more than once a year now :) Something to look forward to for you!

I have sailed to Bermuda 3 times..when I used to live in NY that was the place to cruise to rather than fly south and cruise! And actually cruising is the main reason we chose to re-locate to Florida!

Anyway....twice to Bermuda in October ....the first time the weather couldn't have been better....the second time was not as good :( We were stuck to stay overnight

in the NY Harbor since the ocean was too rough...can you imagine waking up to the NYC skyline? Oh...gambling people were so irrate it wasn't funny since we weren't far enough out to open casinos and duty free!

Anyway...we had some rough seas headed over and then to top it off we had to leave Bermuda a day early because another storm was coming!

The third time i went in June..it was hot, humid and overcast almost the entire trip...

But even though the weather wasn't that great each and every time I just loved Bermuda! Will you go to St. George's??? It is so pretty over there!

Oh...I am sure you did well!!

Maybe if we post meals that we prepare we can pass along recipes as well as get ideas form one another!

Tonite I will have BBQ pork chops, potato"chips" and brussel sprouts!

For the BBQ sauce I get 2 small cans of hunts no salt added tomatoe sauce and add to it liquid smoke, garlic and onion powder....sometime I add a touch of hot sauce or some hot peper flakes for a kick. Then I just slice up some potatoes nice and thin...bake em with some garlic powder and I feel like I have something very sinfull!!

Still not sure what I want to do to the sprouts though..I used to like them with butter and parm. cheese..but that's out!

Oh or mustard and mayo mixed....looks like it will have to be more garlic powder!

I like balsamic vinegret (that doesn't look like it's spelled right-is there spell check on here?) on veggies that I used to use butter on. Also on my yam/sweet potato I add a little cinnamon and don't need butter. So far, don't have any great suggestions. Last night had orange roughy on the grill, sweet potato and grill red pepper.

How did you do Lisa, I bet great!

Oh...I love orange roughy! Specially on the grill!

They also have a wonderful sweet potatoe soufle if you have time...that is usually my biggest problem ...not having enough TIME!!!

But..anyway, if ya have some time...I nuke a few sweet P. mash em up and let cool...then you take 3 egg whites and beat till they are stiff...beat in the Sweet potates...add cin., allspice and bake for about 25 minutes at 325..this stuff tastes like dessert to me :)

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

I think we are in for some really great outdoor weather! Fall is here in FL!!!

Hi Ladies:

I starte this diet on July 7th of this summer and continued on it up to the first hurricane in September. To that point I had lost 24 lbs. Went off until yesterday and had still continued to lose 3 lbs. Now I am back on a wish to lose another 10 lbs. There were two things that I did to save time. On the weekend I would make a soup of vegetables and low salt broth. Then during the week I would heat it up add my two ounces of protein and a half a cup of rice or potatoes. You can eat lots of the broth and the vegetables so it fills you up. If I have to be out, I put it in a thermos so I am always prepared. Also for the snacks I use Designers Whey protien powder with a shaker cup which also can be packed since you only need water. I take a half a cup of fruit with me so my breakfast, mid snack and lunch and mid afternoon snack are covered. This is the only diet I have been successful on and never hungry. Make yourself some homemade ketchup- 1 can of no salt tomatoe paste, vingear to thin and garlic powder. You can use this on everything including the egg white omelets. Going out is hard so about once every 2-3 weeks I go out and have a nice dinner with wine. Don't feel guilty because I'm right back on it the next day. I think I'd lose my mind if I didn't cheat every once in a while. Good Luck, let me know if there is any way I can help. I am a D body type.

Hi:

Kruz, tried your BBQ pork tonight. It was very good, just be careful with the liquid smoke, there's brown sugar in it. I'm going to try the souffle next, that sounds delicious.

For breakfast I nuke oatmeal according to the directions, then I put 2 whipped egg whites in it and nuke 1 min., stir and nuke again for 1 minute. Add Sugar Twin brown sugar and cinnamon. It makes the egg whites a lot easier to take!

Just wanted to drop in and say hi I'm no longer doing the 6wbm I just couldn't eat the same stuff and I Was getting annoyed cause I wasn't getting what was promised by the kit. I probably gave up too easy but I got my money back sold my kit on ebay for the same price I bought it for practically so I Can't complain. I will keep checking in with you girls though and let you know how I'm doing with losing weight and I'm still doing the DEW pledge.

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been MIA lately! After being down 16 lbs in 6 weeks I decied to take a sort of sabatacle(SP)! I just booked a cruise for Jan 23 with my best friend from NY and now I am back on plan!

We had turkey burgers the other night that were out of this world!

I seeded a jalapeno pepper and chopped it....chopped a couple mushrooms up real small ...added some cumin powder and cooked on hte grill...oh boy..then I cut up a red onion and the remaning mushrooms....cooked in some red wine and put those on the burger!

I also made this with "french fries!"

Peeled and nuked (just for a couple minutes) a potato...meanwhile mixed in a baggie onion flakes, onion powder, garlic powder and some chilli powder....cut the potatoes, throw in the bag and coat....sprayed a toasted over pan with Pam and brown for 45 minutes on 350..YUM!! These are great alone or with vinegar!

I love oatmeal for breakfast too Mary! I don't do the egg whites tho...I do turkey bacon for my protien. Lately I have been adding 1/2 apple, peeled and cored and

some cinnimon and a drop of vanilla to my oatmeal......nice for a change :)

I won't be weighing intill next Monday since yesterday was my first official day back!

Thanks for the tips Mary..anything I can find to make this easier and tastier I am all for it:)
