Dennisja Posted December 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2007 We are flying in the day before our cruise and would like to rent a car. My question is the shuttle to the port from the FLL airport rental car center. Broward county's website tells you to contact your rental car company to see if you can use the shuttle. I get a very good corp. rate with AVIS but they say that they do not offer the shuttle service. Do they ask for rental car receipts to ride the shuttle? It may be cheaper for me to change to another company than pay cab fare both ways. Thanks, Susan
Bequia Posted December 21, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2007 Susan, don't get hung up on the free shuttle, the cab rides only $10-$12 for the 5 minute ride to the port. A cab will take you directly to your terminal, no need to stop at the other terminals as the shuttle does, no waiting, a cabs there when you need it. If you can get a good deal aith Avis, just go for it. ;)
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 21, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2007 Susan, when you return your car to Avis at the Fort Lauderdale Airport you will be able to take the complimentary shuttle over to the cruise ship terminal. So, don't worry about any paperwork or anything more on that. The shuttle service is not car rental company specific which is why I think you got the response from Avis. It is provided to all those who have rental car facilities right there. It's been offered for many years. Keith
miclane001 Posted December 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2007 I was not asked for a receipt when I used the shuttle recently.
