ebandive Posted December 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2007 :D Anyone ever stayed in one of these? How was it? Anyone have a picture? The description I saw says that it is the same sq. footage as other inside staterooms, so why only an upper and lower bed? Thanks for any help! zonemasconi Posted December 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2007 on what ship are you referring to. I have stayed in this cat cabin before on the conquest class ships in cabin 6227 i believe and it was due to the size of the room. the cabin was sideways but a bit longer so two beds on the floor wouldnt fit. if your on a conquest class go for cabin # 8357 it still only has one bed on the floor and one upper but it is much bigger. veiw pics. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1500537670054287288EMNywp http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1500537222054287288ovgehx http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1500537946054287288KLJfWo the middle one shows the bed still folded up in the ceiling. gazingm42 Posted December 29, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2007 Here a pic of 1a on conquest. There 2 beds on each side and a bunk above each bed on the room we had for the 4 of us. Lucky for us 2 adults and 2 kids. It looks tight but it did the job for the last minute price.
colk12 Posted December 29, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2007 Wow I hope none of the kids roll out of bed in the night they are landing right on you
DGP1111 Posted December 29, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2007 Sample picture of 1A cabin on Fantasy Class (in this case E181 on Sensation) Sample picture of 1A cabin on Conquest Class (in this case 2216 on Liberty) Again, these are just samples of those I've been in, and not all look the same. I hope it helps. Have a great cruise!!

Lucky for us 2 adults and 2 kids. I may be totally wrong, but (from the picture) that seems much more like a 4A cabin than a 1A.
KimtheCruiser Posted December 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2007 Due to the shape of the room, the beds cannot be put together - it's an upper and lower - but the cabin itself is bigger and has a window! Four of these on the Holiday - 215, 217, 210, 212 - My boys, 14 and 19, were in one last year -

jessemon Posted December 29, 2007 #9 Share Posted December 29, 2007 Great pics. Would anyone happen to have any pics of the category 1A porthole rooms on the Destiny? http://www.nlgsolutions.com/c/cruisemain.asp Click on Carnival then Destiny then photos then 360 degree. This will give you a video 360 of ship areas and stateroom/cabins. On the second page is one of a 1A porthole cabin...... Enjoy, I have one booked on the Destiny in October for a B2B cruise...:D
Rare patrickmoran Posted December 29, 2007 #10 Share Posted December 29, 2007 I like the Cat 1A cabins that are forward and outside cabins on the Riveria and Main decks of the Destiny-class and Conquest-class ships. These are great bargains because they have the space of an outside cabin and windows at the lowest price on the ship. The downside is they have a twin bed and the sofa made up as a single. The picture above of the Conquest shows the layout. Very nice. There can be a bit more noise when the ship docks early in the morning from the bow thrusters but I just turn over and go back to sleep.
