sunhoney64 Posted December 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2007 I will be on the Caribbean Princess out of NYC in June. It says it stops at West End, Bermuda. What does that mean? What town?
iheartbda Posted December 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2007 http://www.bermuda.com/guidesmaps/interactiveislandmaps/index.php You can check this map to get an idea of where you will be. Since you say the West End, you'll be docking at the Royal Naval Dockyard which is not a town. Closest town you'll be near is Somerset Village. You'll be fairly close to the south shore beaches which are the most beautiful.
Nymue Posted January 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2008 What is there to do in that area? We are considering the same cruise, however Princess doesn't list any excursions. Anne

SouthJerseyDave Posted January 8, 2008 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Since your out at the Dockyard anyhow, if you really want to have a truly unique experience, try helmit diving with Hartley's. They take you to an offshore area, and take you 'under the sea' so to speak using a compressed air diving helmit. You actually get to "feed the fishes". If you want to check it out just Google 'hartleybermuda' where the first thing you see in a helmit is Pleiades when he was just a small lad - he's in college now. We will be traveling with 2 teens, we love to snokel/dive but also want to see a bit of the beautiful island. Any suggestions would be most appreciated! No car rentals in Bermuda. The transportation system is excellent and you can purchase a pass that's good on both the busses and ferries. Both will get you anywhere you want to go. Taxis can be pricey especially since the fares just went up.

diamante73 Posted February 1, 2008 #12 Share Posted February 1, 2008 Hi there, Kings Wharf is located at Bermuda's West End (Royal Naval Dockyard). You can visit the following site for information: www.thewestend.bm. The Dockyard offers a wide variety of attractions, such as arts & crafts facilities, the Maritime Museum with the Dolphin Quest, the Clocktower Mall, a number of restaurants and last but not least the fantastic Snorkel Park (www.snorkelpark.com), which is the closest beach to Kings Wharf and offers great snorkeling, watersports, beach toys, live entertainment and Hammerhead's Bar & Grill. From the Dockyard, you can also take a ferry to Hamilton (capital) and St. George's (old town). There is so much to do in Bermuda! You will love it! :) Diamante73
