cot427 Posted January 7, 2008 #151 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Thanks again for the pictures, it looks fantastic, just like the Freedom. Have fun in San Juan, enjoy the shows. I want to here all about the ice show and production shows because I'll be on the Liberty in October. Thanks Radio!
s318830 Posted January 7, 2008 #152 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Radio - I have a few questions for you. My family and I will be embarking on Liberty this Saturday. I'm so glad you're doing this live report! #1) Is the solarium pool large enough to swim laps in? #2) Are they doing in-cabin babysitting? There was a thread a while back in which it was rumored that the Liberty (and only the Liberty) was doing away with in-cabin babysitting. #3) What kind of door locks are there on the doors? Are there swing-across latches? Thanks! Debbie
pinkrosesdeb Posted January 7, 2008 #153 Share Posted January 7, 2008 1010Transistor, it is kinda like paying someone to shock the snot out of you for 30 mins!!! I was physically forcing myself to be still. The therapist said "You'll get used to it really fast!" I DID NOT get used to it at all. I just laid there waiting for the next jolt! I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but something about those shocks made me crazy. She was NOT happy with me when I told her I wouldn't come back for more. She said "You are the ONLY person who has ever said that!" and threw her towels in the basket to clean up. Of course, she did still try to sell me $600 worth of products before I left. So, now it is massages or facials for me! Deb

Debbie Hello here are some answers. . . . #1 - No. . . the Solarium pool is smaller than the Main pool. . . . #2- I will ask while onboard about Baby sitting. . . # 3 -There is the standard lock, and a deadbolt. There are no Swing latches. . . I am glad you are enjoying this report ! Radio ;) ;)
Rare Radio Posted January 7, 2008 Author #155 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Good morning Radio! Thanks again for the fantastic pictures! Can I ask a HUGE favor? I'm sailing on the 26th with my family, including my 3 year old son who isn't fully potty trained. I heard there was a "Baby Splash Zone" for those kiddos in swim diapers. If possible, can you upload a snapshot of this area. I can't find any on the internet. Happy Sailing!! They make many specific mentions that only potty trained kids can use the H2O Zone. I will ask if there is a Baby Zone. . . Rare Radio Posted January 7, 2008 Author #156 Share Posted January 7, 2008  Radio, any chance of posting the spa prices? I have found the list of services but not prices. We like to do at least 1 spa treatment per trip. Last trip, I tried the Ioniethermie...won't do that again! Thanks for all the time you are putting into this! Deb I will try to get the prices. . . The Radiance is here with us today, until 730PM, then she will be off to St Thomas, USVI (Currently on an 8nt E.Caribbean). Here are some pics from our arrival in San Juan, PR. . . . cot427 Posted January 7, 2008 #160 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Nice pictures. That's wierd, when I was on the Freedom, we docked exactly where the Radiance is, and I thought it was for the bigger ships, like Freedom class.
Rare Radio Posted January 7, 2008 Author #161 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Radio, you are at Pier # 3 correct? Hmmm. . . . The passenger Pier is Pier 4, and the ferry pier is Pier 1. We are between them. . . It might be 2 or 3 ? I will find out ! Radio
Rare TPKeller Posted January 7, 2008 #162 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Hey, yeah while you're there, see if you can find a local map of the pier numbers. We've seen conflicting reports as to which is which! I'd like to make sure my San Juan map is correct. Theron

wrp96 Posted January 7, 2008 #164 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Hmmm. . . . The passenger Pier is Pier 4, and the ferry pier is Pier 1. We are between them. . . It might be 2 or 3 ? I will find out ! Radio   If you are at the one in between them, then you are at Pier # 3. It was specifically built to accommodate RCCL's larger ships (and eliminate the need for some of the ships to go over to the Pan Am Pier on busy days). cindyscruise Posted January 7, 2008 #166 Share Posted January 7, 2008 With all your beautiful pictures, I won't have to take any when we go on the Liberty in June. We are going on the Western so will take ashore, but my pictures don't hold a candle to yours. I am enjoying every moment of your trip.

Rare Radio Posted January 8, 2008 Author #169 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Hey, yeah while you're there, see if you can find a local map of the pier numbers. We've seen conflicting reports as to which is which! I'd like to make sure my San Juan map is correct. Theron OK. . .Here is what I was able to find out . . . Costa Medeterrania, and CCL Liberty are docked at Pier 4, and Liberty and Radiance are docked at Pier 3(directly in front of the Sheraton), Pier 2 is the Ferry Pier, and Disney magic just pulled up and docked on Pier 1. Some helpful Guards were able to straighten me out. I found 2 Info maps of the port, but neither of them showed the NEW Pier where we are at now (Pier3) I'm glad that I found out this info...people ask often about the Piers. . .;) Radio
Rare Radio Posted January 8, 2008 Author #170 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Hello everyone. . . Here are a few pics from our short stay in San Juan. It was a busy day for San Juan with 5 Ships in Port. We should be seeing a couple of them again tomorrow. I mainly walked around in a few shops (I love the Polo Outlet shop), and went to Starbucks. Radio Costa and Carnival at Pier 4 I went to the Pool Deck on the top floor for most of the Pics. . . Pier 1 and Pier 2 Radiance of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas at Pier 3 Liberty of the Seas ! . Crazy Flying Fish Posted January 8, 2008 #175 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Radio, Great Job!! I have read several of your most recent "Live From" threads. You sure do work hard at having fun. My wife and I are doing this cruise on August 30, 2008. Thanks for the info. P.S. - I noticed that you drove to Miami, it must have been a long drive (How long was it?, we live in your area). My wife is dubbing this her "Fear of Flying Cruise". She hates to fly but wanted to be on this ship. I don't get enough vacation to add on for the driving days needed. I'm guessing 18 hours drive time.
