In answer to an above question, the Cafe Promenade is free of charge. It has pizza, sandwiches, water, coffee, tea. Seattle's Best gourmet coffees are available for a charge. Cabins were ready at 1:00pm and we were able to board at 11:30am. Cabins are cleaned in the morning, but they don't give you ice unless you request it now. Ice is given automatically during the night cleaning and turn down. We were some of the first people on the ship, so I shot many interior photos before most people were there and roaming about. Others I took while most people were doing other things, like the Johnny Rockets shot was during sailaway as I switched sides of the ship.

Okay we are finally all the way back home and settled in and I have completed uploading the 1200 + pics we took to Photobucket. (Here's a little preview for AOS fans below) I'm working on my final report, but ask away in the mean time if you have questions. BTW, new ice policy is they only give ice 1X a day unless you request it twice. (ie. with the later cleaning, not the morning.) Our cabin stewart, Linda, briefed us on this change when we first met and we requested it twice a day and it was always full the rest of the cruise. (I noticed the change when we first got to our cabin and there was no ice.)

What a tease ;) ;)

I loved your photo's can't wait to see the rest 1200+ photo's.

I am a scrapbooker and novice photographer and you have a wownderful eye for photo taking.

This makes me really want to be on the ship this week not 120 days away :(

Thanks for sharing and teasing :p

AOS is a great ship!! Sailed her for my first cruise experience in April. While I don't have anything else to go on, I was blown away by how nice it was. I think the best part was the staff, everyone went above and beyond! The CD was great!

Hold on, the Photobucket site just has the bulk download of this year's photos, I still have to edit them. When I finish my report, I'll work on an AOS album from all 3 of my trips on both itineraries and post a link. I may use my .Mac site if that is easier to work with since that album should end up with close to 2000 pics! Okay, back to work on my report!

Does anyone know table numbers of the oval ones on the first floor of the dining room?

Just got off the Adventure and had a table for twelve on the bottom floor (3rd deck - Vivaldi dining room). It was a wonderful view all week of all three levels and the chandelier - our table number was 322. We were one of the tables right in front of the staircase.

We had table 467 Strauss Dining Room with a table for 8 by the window. ( Though only 6 of the 8 showed up.........) I loved the almost full length windows on this deck of the dining room (much better than the large portholes on deck 3) and we were able to catch some great sunsets since we had main seating. There is also a magnificent view of the great chandelier. The dining room was so elegant.

At first I was disappointed to not be in the center of things on deck 3 but the huge windows made up for it.

I highly recommend the french toast for breakfast in the dining room. It is absolutely divine!!:p This french toast is NOT served in Windjammer. I am yearning for it already; well that and the mints on my pillow plus the towel animals. Major cruise withdrawal here.....................................

Thanks Sadie! I hope you had great table mates. It must be the center of all the dining room activities..

Saw the thread about the sports deck being revamped. What will they be doing?

Ok, I tried to do a search but it is not working:rolleyes: . What is the sports deck thread? We will be on AOS June 15th and I want to make sure we can still use mini golf. Are the closing part of the sports deck while they revamp???

For all of you going on the AOS- We really enjoyed the following:

1.Lobby Bar and Cheryl who was so personable and went out of her way for us. (a box for my souvenir swirl glasses and also hunted down all the colors I didn't have!)

2. I enjoyed the french toast in the dining room.

3. DH enjoyed the bucket of beer from the pool bar - he purchased the first day and then had one each night while enjoying the balcony.

4. We found that there was no line buffet in the Windjammer if you went all past the entrance line and used the one to the back- same food, etc. plus a great view.

5. I highly recommend the Mojitos and all the drinks of the day as well- my favorite was the Summer Breeze.

6. Don't forget room service for breakfast we did this two days - it arrived promptly and hot.

That's all I can think of of for now!:D Wish I was going again soon.

Leaving in 2 weeks!!!!

For those who have been on there lately.....

how many nights will I be able to get creme bruleé or flan in the dining room??????

One of my favorites as well! It was on the menu only one night I can't remember what night but more mid-cruise.

The desserts where wonderful as usual we felt the entre selections where lacking, but we were still able to find something to eat. There was always a wonderful selection of desserts in the Windjammer at lunch. (Probably the reason I gained 5 ponds.)

Enjoy!

BTW- Mike the cruise director was great - the best cruise director we have seen.

Hey Judi!

Which bars made the best mojijtos?

How much are the buckets of beer now? Do you get one free with each bucket? They used to do that. We get a bucket a day....not one for the week!! :D

That's good advice about going straight to the back of the windjammer. It's usually less crowded back there, especially the first of the week.

We'll be boarding one month from today!

Bucket of beer was 24.40 and I think it equates to one bottle free. Doug likes to have one on the balcony in the evening. So this worked about right for him.

I had a Mojito in the Viking Crown as it was great. I like rum so the drinks of the day usually work for me.

Day 1- Mai Tiki

Day 2- Lava Flow

Day 3- Summer Breeze (my favorite)

Day 4- Fuzzy Navel- (didn't do this one- went back to Summer Breeze!)

Day 5- Mango Mai Tai

Day 6- Margarita

Day 7- Rum Runner

Enjoy your cruise!!

I have been message board MIA for quite some time. I was involved in this thread when Robyn started it and was thrilled to see it is still alive an strong.

As you can see-I was on AOS back in January during all the drama and the reason for the start of this thread!

All booked-have a great time because you will. Glad to hear Mike S. is still there because he is great. If Dee Dee is still the concierge-you will love her.

And -to the above post

Lava Flow is addicting!!! :D
