Bottle of liquor...pre-order or use room service?

Whether you order a bottle of liquor through Ship Services or through room service the price will be the same -- including the 15% gratuity.

BUT -- if you sailing out of a Florida port -- there will be an extra 6% Florida tax whether you order before the cruise or after you get on the ship.

Sailing out of Florida -- wait until you are at least 10 miles from shore.

Also consider if you plan on drinking an entire bottle in your stateroom throughout the cruise. How long is the cruise, do you and your roomie drink the same poison, do you have a pre dinner drink in your cabin, do you like a nightcap in your cabin or in other words, are you going to drink enough of that bottle to make up for room service of the drinks to your cabin? We love night caps but also love connecting with one or two bartenders.

After several cruises, it is so much easier to evaluate do we do this or do we do that since we now know how we do what on cruises. To a newbee I would suggest go with the flow and see how you enjoy cruising. Research all you can. Plan your shore excursions. But details like having a bottle in the cabin - wait till 2nd cruise to see if it would really be worth it.

Hi every one. Been lurking and reading alot on HAL. My search is not working today so asking a question that has been asked before. Been on 2 Carnival cruises and alway pre ordered alcohol thru them to have delivered to my cabin. I assume that HAL offers the same service????? If so is everyone happy with their service??? Hope to step up and enjoy HAL this yr. Everyone seems very helpful on this board.
