Concorde Experience

Hello-

we're interested in doing the Concorde Experience, and currently have it reserved but are thinking there might be a private tour that would include it and we would get to see more... anyone?

  • 2 weeks later...

The Concorde exhibit is out at the airport.

That's not close to much else that falls under the category of cruisers'-day-trips.

Nearest tourism-type things I can think of are Sunbury Pltn. House(historical)

and The Crane Hotel/Resort

so.. given those two clues

you might try to wangle something that takes in one or both of them.

You might try 'building your own thang' by hiring a cab or something

and simply do the Concorde thing at the airport

on your way out to spending the day at the Crane...about 2 miles away

That's the best I can come up with dude, sorry.

it's actually only a 3 hour tour that gets us back to the ship around 1 pm. Would it be worth it to head to the Boatyard from there or skip the Concorde thing altogether. Like doing a little history when on vacation and this seems like something we can't do anywhere else...

or skip the Concorde thing altogether. ===> No!

I haven't done the Concorde thing yet (although I live here?)

but I've been told it's worth the money!

so I think you should go ahead and do the Concorde thing

(takes about 1-1.5 hrs. I believe?)

and then head back to Boatyard -or any Carlisle Bay hangout

(Lobster Alive? right next door!)

and then you'll be within 10-15 mins. of your ship, for sailaway!

I have a whole buncha Carlisle Bay pics posted..

Many of the people in our group are going from the ship to the Boatyard, so this may be something we can do first and join them at the beach later on. I will be trying not to get too much sun exposure and this will help out. :) If anyone has done this excursion, I would appreciate reading their comments.

thanks for the help. Really didn't want to skip it, as it seems like a once-in-a-lifetime thing, but it doesn't seem to be a popular excursion.

No... it's more of a kill-time-while-U-wait-on-your-flight thing, I reckon.

I mean...how many aircraft enthusiasts are there on cruise ships.

remember, there are more planes in the sea

than there are ships in the sky, huh? :)

I believe that it is a relatively new attraction and may not have been experienced by many tourists to date. I am thinking about visiting it when we are in Barbados next week on our cruise and will post my thoughts when we return. It sounds interesting and I don't think that interest in cruising and in airplanes are mutually exclusive.:D

I think there are a lot of GUYS on cruise ships and mine loves airplanes and engine rooms and turbines and I get dragged along to see all of it....
