tcs1366 Posted January 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2008 I am obviously new at this... first cruise and all.... So i'm pluggin' away doing this Fun Pass thing ... but some of the terminology is like "HUH?" ok -- first, passport 1) City of Issuance/Authority ?? major city that it was returned FROM?? i'm guessing Chicago but i could not find it listed anywhere 2) Document number I'm assuming that it the passport number, as it's the only number. next page (easy enough) Page 3 3) Transportation Class ?? 4) company -- hope we have that written down somewhere 5) Bus/Train no [huh.... no = number, as in phone??] 6) Departure city == why wouldnt they have Port Canaveral listed since it is one of their ports?? Departure date and Time ? when i'm departing the cruise ship? Time? i have no idea. Arrival City, date and time?? where am i arriving from? Could they have made this MORE confusing?? or an i just a nitwit?? any assistance would be FABULOUS!! **banging head on formica** TIA, tcs

That's where you get that info. wifes is New Orleans, mine is somewhere else. Item 2)Document number equals Passport number Item3 and so on is for Post cruise information. What are you doing after the cruise? How are you getting to the airport. (In this case Port Canaveral would NOT be departure city. Most likely MCO or Orlando would be). This information is for Homeland Security purposes ( I assume) and also should your cruise be delayed upon returning, they could help with new flight schedules etc etc.
Sidmon Posted January 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2008 I thought City of Issuance/Authority is "US Department of State". At least that what I type in.
PINEVIEW01 Posted January 26, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2008 ok -- first, passport 1) City of Issuance/Authority ?? major city that it was returned FROM?? i'm guessing Chicago but i could not find it listed anywhere I got mine before they all sprung up so, it did come from Chicago. It states: National Passport Center. Is that what shows on yours under Authority?? Sidmon is that what yours says under Authority? tsc1366 don't worry about anything without the red star, like class
mjbearit Posted January 26, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2008 I thought City of Issuance/Authority is "US Department of State". At least that what I type in. No, on the passport I received it is not listed (that I could find), but I was sent that information via email when it was done being processed (as I recall!). Now that was late last year and I could not tell you today what that was, but I was given a city of issuence at some point! It was probably Los Angeles since that is where the return address is from on the package it arrived from, but I think if you put US Department of State, I don't see how they can really argue that! Now you got me worried for next time I have to do this! LOL! :D
PINEVIEW01 Posted January 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2008 The info they need should be printed ON your passport under Authority 2/3 way down on the righthand side of photo page

tcs1366 Posted January 26, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted January 26, 2008 OK -- i found the "authority" thing... and the thing is, if you type it exactly as it is in the Passport, it doesnt fit. I'm muddling thru the rest -- guessing at some of the "times" if i get stumped again... i'll post back. Thank you!! you'd think they would use "laymen terms" "what time is the van picking you up?" those types of questions....

travelerdave Posted January 26, 2008 #13 Share Posted January 26, 2008 We just got new passports in September. On our old passport, under authority it says the name of the city where we sent our application to. On our new passports it say United States Department of State in the same location. Also, your travel info for funpass is for AFTER your cruise is over only. I too received an error message when trying to complete my funpass. I retried and retried for about 1/2 hour and nothing, so I walked away and came back about 2 hours later and tried again and yeah this time it worked and let me complete!
