After getting off in Barcelona on May4th (staying over 1 night there), we are planning to go to Paris, France for a 2 night stay.

If we take a train from Barcelona to Paris, how long is the train ride? Or will it take too long, and we should just fly from Barcelona to Paris?

I would appreciate anyone's expertise on this.

Thanks,

Kathy

Later Train redBullet.gif It came over kind of weird when copied, so here is a link but it seems there is a direct train that takes almost 12 hrs, or one with a stop oper, so you would add up the 2 trips. Flying will probably save time, and you should be able to find good price depending on when you are going..

The direct train leaves Barcelona at about 9pm and gets in to Gare d'Austerlitz about 12 hours later (9am). You can have a reclining seat, share a compartment or go Gran Classe and have a compartment for 2 with en suite, evening meal (& wine) and breakfast all included. Go to http://www.seat61.com/Spain.htm and scroll down to 'London to Barcelona'. More info at http://www.elipsos.com/htm/default.htm?lang=3 who actually run the train. Although the air trip will be quicker and possibly cheaper, you have effectively no baggage restrictions and a much more 'chilled out' trip. Remember, most European internal flights have a limit of one 20kg bag per person.

PS We are going on it both ways in May.
