flashdog_1 Posted January 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2008 When I travel I like to taste the local cuisine. I found Swamp Fox in the Francis Marion Hotel, listed on the Historic Hotels of the US, a National Trust. Menu looked authentic, and according to Randmcnally.com is 4 minutes by car away from our hotel. The site for the hotel says valet parking but it says street parking on the restaurant's website. We'll be there on a Friday, and parking may be scarce. Anyone know if you can use the hotel's valet service, or do you have to be a hotel guest? BTW you can get a Restaurant.com gift certificate for $4 (60% off sale right now...code EASY at check out to get it). Spend $35 on entrees (never hard to do) and get $25 off. Does not include gratuities or alcohol. I assume this means you can't use it if only one person gets an under $35 entree and the other person(s) just have a salad, appetizers, beverage and dessert bringing the bill to $35. There were several other good Charleston restaurants listed but didn't sound as southern as Swamp Fox. Has anyone eaten there? Tell me about it. also about the parking.
