Just wanted to share my photos from our wonderful cruise on Grandeur. It was a 5 night out of Tampa to Cozumel and Belize City. We had (and loved!) aft JS 7150. The ship, service, cabin, food and excursions (Tulum and Lamanai) were all excellent. I did not do a formal review this time but everything deserved 5 stars in my opinion.

If you have any questions I would be happy to try to answer them! Enjoy!

Hi Jane

Enjoyed the pictures. Brought back memories. We were on Grandeur years ago - loved it because she is not too large or small. It also holds a particular sentiment for me since I got engaged on her.

Glad your trip was great.

Hi, we are thinking of getting 7150. We have been on a number of aft cabins on the newer ships with the more advanced stabilizers. Did this location have a lot of rocking? Also, was it noisy due to the lounge below? Thanks

Great pictures, thanks. We are leaving on 2/18 for 5 days, have been on her 3 times and love the ship and the Captain. We are going with freinds that have never been on this ship and they will love these pictures, thanks again.

artvlay: I had an aft cabin on both the Crown Princess and Carnival Legend...there was quite a bit of motion in these cabins as well as some vibration. I felt no movement in 7150...but I also felt the seas were especially smooth on our trip. This was also the first trip I did not take any motion sickness meds...and did not need to!

As far as the sounds from the lounge...we had late dining and were usually not back in the cabin until after midnight so we did not hear any of the noise that others have referred to. I did make a point of "listening" while getting ready for dinner to hear what was going on below, and honestly I thought it was quite muted and did not think that it would have been a problem for me had I been trying to sleep.

Hi Jane,

Thanks for posting the photos. I am going on her 2/4/08. Just a few questions:

When did you board the ship? do you know what time they allowed people on?

Where there any deck parties at night? ie mexican buffet

Did RCCL serve lobster on the cruise?

Thanks in advance for you help!!

Thanks, Jane, for posting the pix. We, too, were onboard the Gradeur with you. Unfortunately, BF left his camera in the car, so I appreciate your shared pictures!

We really liked the ship. Found it very easy to get around. There was something to eat at every meal, somewhere to go or see at all times, and our wait staff for second seating was great.

Unfortunately, I did get motion sickness the last night out, and hurried to pack and have luggage outside the cabin by 11PM on Wednesday. Didn't open large suitcase until I got home three days later, only to discover that several items were missing, including a case of costume jewelry, linergie bag, expensive T-shirts, etc. Yes, it was my own doing because I didn't think to lock the luggage.

Otherwise, the trip was fun. We went snorkeling in Cozumel, and SNUBA diving in Belize City.

To answer the question regarding lobster on Grandeur: I didn't see it on the menu. There was a Caribbean night at the pool, but there was no midnight buffet during the cruise. We especially enjoyed the "quiet" time in Solarium setting; the casino wasn't too bad. As they all say, "I broke even." The shows were okay. I especially enjoyed the juggler and his bug-eyes. Theater never was overcrowded except the first night; however, we just searched for two seats (while others were standing) and found them in the fifth row.

Glad you had a nice time, and thanks again for "my" pictures!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. We have cruised the Grandeur twice and really like her. We're thinking of taking this itinerary. I noticed in your pics that one of the historic sites allowed people to climb the ruins. Can you tell me what site that was? Thanks!

atgatari: We will also be on the Feb. 4th sailing of the Grandeur We do have a Roll Call site going if you'd like to "meet" a few b4 this next week. Looks like a fun group!

Our 1st time on the Grandeur so Thanks Moonmom for the pics. Nice! We'd like to do the Tulum excursion but the description makes it sound like it's quite a rough walk. Knowing we can't climb the big steps anyway, do you think it's a problem for Seniors? I do take meds for poss. rapid heart beat but Square Dance without a problem Your pics show a flat terrain and looks fine. [i realize you're not a Dr. but can you just give me the lay of the land & distance? :) ] TIA

Hi Winncove,

Next week can't come quick enough. I will check out the Roll call. My brother & I are flying down to Tampa to take my mom on the cruise for her 70th birthday.

atgatari: We boarded the ship at 1pm. We arrived at the pier at 11am only to find out that the ship arrived around 4 hours late due to fog. People were just getting off the ship at that time. We took a short walk to have lunch at Channelside. I heard that if everything is on schedule you would be able to board between 11-11:30.

As Makeup Lady said there was a Caribbean late night party on the pool deck...i did not go but i think they had a buffet associated with that event.

There was no lobster on the menu on this sailing.

Parrothead8: Although the previous cruise arrived late due to the fog, we were able to depart right on time.

michigal: The ruins that you were allowed to climb were at Lamanai...that was High Temple...a little over 100 feet high. Many people climbed to the top...my son (21) did... i made it up a little bit was petrified so i turned around and came down on my butt! Those that did were very excited when they got back down to the base. I couldn't even watch my son...scarey!

Makeup Lady: sorry about your camera and other losses! Feel free to download any of my pics that you like!

winncove:I did not feel that it was a rough walk. The longest didtance is about 1/2 mile after the bus ride to get to the entrance to the site. There is a tram available round trip for a couple of dollars per person. The site itself is flat and you can find some shade if necessary. I would go for it!

Thanks for all the kind words about my photos...especially from Radio! I have enjoyed your pics and posts from Grandeur in the past...;)

Safe and wonderful journeys to all...you will love Grandeur!

Your pictures are great and much appreciated in our household as we're sailing the Granduer on Feb 4th for the first time and, in our first aft JS (cabin # 7156). We've sailed on quite a few other RCL ships over the years from Sovereign to Mariner including Granduer's sister ship the Enchantment. Mostly in JS's but never and aft cabin so we're really looking forward to it (7 more days)!:D

 • 2 months later...

 We are sailing on the Grandeur May 1, 2008. We are in cabin 7150. It was great to find your pictures and just can't wait for the cruise to get here. We have sailed on the Grandeur one other time and we had a regular balcony. It was nice, but we have never had a suite on any cruise (about 15 total) and thought it was about time. We will probably like it so much we will want a bigger one next time. HA HA Again, thanks for the pictures.
