We have just returned from a truly superb cruise with Capt Dexter ( an excellent Capt from England ) . Martita B.said how much we would enjoy meeting with him.His narratives every day at 12 noon were really informative and often amusing. We had dinner with him one night and often had a chat. The best Captain we have ever had. For the sake of brevity,

Like the new look of the 'Pride'

Entertainment really excellent ranging from Eric ( Cd ) to magic shows, Bonnie et al.

Machu Picchu /Easter island -truly resplendant.

Met up with Granny and AuntieAnne.

We have booked two more cruises with Seabourn.

Kind regards to all,

Tony.

When you say England do you mean England as part of the UK. Has he a British passport or an English one:confused:

Seapenarth,

Capt Dexter lives near Christchurch,South Island, New Zealand with his family.

He went to school in the North of England and then moved to Dorset.

The Queen is head of state in NZ (Commonwealth Realm )and many say that it is more British than England!

As 'lord of the seas ' says-yes British passport.

He was the best Capt we have had.

Kind regards,

Tony

Hi Tony,

Hope you are still checking the boards after your return! I would really appreciate your comments on the Easter island trip. We are planing on doing it next year pre-cruise. Did you take the SB excursion or did you arrange for it on your own? How were the hotel, guides, etc. How long were you there and do you wish you had more or less time to stay? Any info or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Easter Island was truly surreal.

Yes we did the Seabourn post cruise package albeit a special personalised concierge service. This was put together by SB really really well.

Day One-disembarked in Valparaiso-sightseeing-Casablanca valley ( vineyard ) wine testing, excellent lunch including tour-flight to Easter Island.Met at airport-usual greetings-Polynesian reception and then transferred to Iorana Hotel for three nights. This was very good with resplendant views. Nice decent room. ( Lot of negative comments re hotels in Easter Island on 'trip adviser'). Next two full days of activities.

Our personal guide was an American chappy who was 'reading archeology'-he was really excellent. We had Champagne at sundown in a remarkable location with the moais and palm trees in the foreground followed by dinner and then a superb folklore show( other SB passengers were not included-not sure why) At the end of day three after sightseeing we had dinner with a local family. More am sightseeing the following day before our flight just after lunch. I think 4 days is enough although some said 7 days would be better. The weather was very good

and excellent light for viewings and taking photographs etc. The hotel staff very friendly and helpfull. The whole package put together by SB was simply excellent ( Machu Picchu was the same )

Hope this is of help to you.

Kind regards

Tony.
