Last night on PBS there was a special about the restoration of the Parthenon. Their website has lots of very interesting information about the project that inserts lots of historical information as well!

yes, it was a great program. Check your local PBS station's website -- it will probably be rebroadcast later in the week, in the wee hours. There was a tie-in to the cover article in the Feb 2008 Smithsonian mag. Go to the mag's website for a transcript.
