He's soooo cute! He has chunky thighs, the cutest button nose, and thin lips like his mom. His eyes are deep blue, and he has lots of blonde hair. My sister's a blue-eyed blonde, so he has a good chance of staying that way. My sister and hubby are over the moon.

Awwww....he sounds just gorgeous...I adore babies...I'm a complete sucker for them. And believe me, those thighs may look chunky now, but just give them a few months!!! :p I love those little chunk-muffins!!!

Enjoy Chi....have a wonderful wonderful weekend.:)

My poor sister...and poor nephew. He was circumcised today, and the bleeding wouldn't stop. They tested him a couple times, and he may have hemophilia. He and my brother-in-law are on their way down to one of the children's hospitals to meet with a dr that specializes in this type of thing. He'll probably have to stay overnight there. The lactation specialist brought in a pump so she could pump and get the milk flowing (hopefully). I guess I don't understand why he'd need to stay overnight. I understand needing to see a specialist that isn't available at their hospital, but if they are just going to run tests, why the need to keep him overnight? I'm wondering if they aren't telling us something. My mom said the drs were VERY reassuring that they don't feel it's anything serious.

Leslie,

They want him to stay overnight because he is a tiny newborn. Sure, they are just running tests.... but God forbid something went wrong and he got sick and needed special attention they want him to be where he can receive the best possible care. This is a GOOD thing....so do not worry. I'm sure he will be just fine....I bet the person suffering the most is your sister......give her a big hug......I'm sure she has a few scared tears she may need to shed on your shoulder.

Keep us updated........

You guys are right. It's just scary, although they said the worst case scenario is he has hemophilia. Not ideal, but not the end of the world. My brother-in-law is going to Children's with his parents (I'm glad we live in a big city with such a facility), mom is staying at the hospital with my sister tonight (they are in a very upscale area - the hospital has all individual rooms that are huge - bigger than your average hotel room, so they brought in a cot for my BIL to sleep, and that's where my mom will sleep), and my dad is going to their house to be with the dog.

Hey, read your post on the beauty board about Paris! wonderful!

Chi: Glad the new addition is coming along..remember babies are marvelous machines that can bounce back better than adults in some things!

I just returned from a few days off of fishing..have been getting in some form of workout almost daily!

All sounds good! Thanks for keeping us updated Chi. :)

LOL..yes..borrowed a screename from someone LOL..

You'd be surprised..sometimes kids grow out of that stuff..you never know..but glad he's doing well.

So you're Gathina again?!

He does have type a hemophilia. He will live a normal life, just won't be able to do heavy contact sports like hockey and football. Weird though that nobody in our family has this. I wonder if I'm a carrier... He's 100% healthy otherwise. His lungs are perfectly fine :) They're releasing my sister tonight, and she and her hubby will go down to Children's to be with their baby. He'll be able to go home tomorrow. They're also meeting with a hemotologist tomorrow.

Leslie, Its not an ideal situation but at least they found out right away and now your sister and her husband are going to get all the knowledge they can to help the little guy and keep him healthy. Football sucks anyhow. :)

My sis has a great attitude about this whole thing. Yes, the worst case scenario played out, but even that's not that bad. Hemophiliacs have a normal life expectancy, and he doesn't have a severe form. My sister says she's just grateful everything else is fine...he's probably one of the healthiest children at the hospital! And he is healthy...it's just something they're going to have to live with. Just like I live with my (severe) asthma.

AW, I just got back from the hospital. They released my sister, so she's at the Children's hospital. She's doing well, and so is he. He's so gorgeous, and he's otherwise so healthy. In the short time at the hospital I saw several children that were way worse off than him. We're lucky. I don't know if I'll ever be able to have children myself though...I've been so worried and crying so much...I don't know how I'd handle it with my own! I worry way too much about everything...I'd be the most paranoid mom!

Hey that is just nature - we are SUPPOSED to be that way to take care of our kids! It's in the genes. :p Glad everyone is doing well.

And yeah...you'll be a great mom one day. ;)

Yes gals....I am going to Paris!! Took a while to decide, but once I got it in my head....that was it. More for my son of course, but I am really looking forward to it!! And it's a surprise - so he has no idea, yet.

Everybody went home last night! I skipped my workout and went to the hospital to see everybody. He is truly beautiful, and my sister and her hubby feel very blessed. They will have to make some adjustments, like the parent of an asthmatic or diabetic (but they said what he has is less severe) but he will live a normal, healthy life. There actually may be a cure within the next several years! Visiting hours were til 8:30 but he didn't get released until 9:15. They let me stay to see everybody out:). A nice, happy, little family.

You have the right attitude, Chi. There will be adjustments, but they will be manageable. My best friend has a son that was diagnosed at 8 yrs of age with a terminal illness. He is 22 now, and though he has deteriorated somewhat, he is a smart, well-adjusted kid, that has a very good quality of life. So keep the chin up!! :) Hope everyone is getting some much needed rest, Chi.

I can't even sleep. My car was crunched in an accident on the way home from work. The other car pulled out in front of me, so while it clearly was not my fault, it completely wracked my nerves. I keep seeing it over and over in my head. No one was hurt, and the damage was minor, though my car is not drivable cuz the light and bumper is hanging down onto the tire. She had her 15mo old baby in the car - in a car seat thank goodness. Just wish i could stop thinking about it...weird how things take over your brain sometimes!!

Ahhh the hip bone test! That is too how I know when I have reached the right weight. So now you are on to the next phase, keeping it off. I actually find this harder than the weight loss as you have to figure it out all over again and it is easier to let it get out of control.

Happy...glad u r ok after the accident.......

Leslie....congrats on the weight loss. I hear ya about losing taking so long....I'm at that stage right now......but even though I want to lose more, I like how I look so its ok with me. I'm resting comfortably at 121....but have every intention of not giving up and reaching the teens.

Enjoy the day everyone. After Curves, I'm getting my hair done. I go to a nice ladies house....but it takes 3 hours!!!

Happy: OMG! I am so glad you are ok..I got my car back after one month from mine, (think I told you guys I got hit by an RV pulling an SUV on a trailer and had fishtailed/spun around a few times on the highway). It's true..you really think about 'what could have been' (I still do). Expect to feel loopy about it for awhile..it's an acute trauma response..I still am having problems driving..but give yourself the benefit of rest and take as much as you need. I still have problems driving.

cars can be replaced, people can't..glad your well. M

Completely understandable happy. I was in an accident a few years ago that was clearly not my fault (guy got rear-ended which caused him to enter my lane of traffic and t-bone him), I kept thinking about "what could have been."

Gosh that is so true, M. I do feel weird driving now...a bit paranoid that someone else is going to appear out of nowhere. I've never experienced a collision, and it's surprising the effect it has. I know it will subside after a while....but right now wish I could just stay home. :o

What I did was rest alot, and took it slowly. I must admit it's weird driving the car again that I was almost killed in. I wasn't talking on the cell phone when it happened as it was shut off, but I have made a couple of rules..NO cell phone use while driving, even with a headset, and NO eating in the car. Drinking, yes..but no eating..no multitasking. Everyoen got mad at me when I refused to answer calls and I said to get used to it, no more when I'm driving, period, unless I can pull off. You'll be fine. You just have to do a little every day.

Yeah, where is everybody? I've been buried in work, no time for computer anymore.

Brenda, how's your "6pack abs" goal doing? Happy, how are you feeling from the accident? Chi, how's the baby?

Hey girl! Yeah most of my extra time lately is being spent on getting my Europe trip all in place...trying to figure out how to pack for 8 day with just a carry-on is a bit challenging for a gal that loves to have every flippin' thing in her closet with her!

I'm good...driving feels almost normal again...never had any "aches or pains" thank goodness, but I definitely drive with a warier eye...looking for trouble. :o

My sweetie is coming home next week (FINALLY!), so making plans for that as well. How is everyone doing?? I hope everyone has a great LONG weekend! (I get 3 days...woo hoo!!)
