go fish 44 Posted May 19, 2017 #26 Share Posted May 19, 2017 HeinBloed Could you please post info on getting to the airport from the Altona Pier. On NCL Jade and docking is at 8am and our flight is at noon. Is taxi to the Altona train station the best way and then the bus to the commuter train to the airport? I assume there is just one side to the train station for passenger drop off?? If possible the cost of the commuter train. Sue

Sue If you need to be by 10.30 hrs at the airport to catch your 12.00 hrs flight I would do Bus 111 to Altona Train Station ("S Altona") and take from here S1 towards Hamburg Airport. But if you are travelling light and you really like to do a little sightseeing on the way to the airport to kill time: Take the ferry in front fo the Altona Cruise Terminal from Docklands to Landings Stages (Landungsbrücken) and change here for the ferry to the Elbphilharmonie... continue on Bus 111 to Hafen City and go on Subway U4 to Jungfernstieg (a short walk off the stop to see river/lake Alster and Town Hall Square and Shopping area Jungfernstieg. From here you can continue to airport by S1 towards Airport. As said: works with a small trolley and to kill time. Regards HeinBloed
