Really Old Ships

Recommended Posts

I am looking for information on ships of the last two decades of the nineteenth century. Is anyone on this site a ship historian?

I am trying to find information on two Russian ships of that era.

1. Rhaetia

2. Aller

I should appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge about them.

Thank you.

I have discovered that the Rhaetia, built in 1882, was 3553 gross tons, and measured 350.1 ft. by 42.6 ft. It was part of the Hamburg American Line.

The Aller, while built in Scotland in 1886, was a North German Lloyd line ship that carried 81 passengers.
