What would you do?

I called my PVP two weeks ago to make final payment on our upcoming cruise. During our conversation, I asked her about a cruise for 2009. I want to book three cabins. She said she would get back to me with the information for the date and ship I asked about. After a week with no return phone call, I emailed her to remind her about my request. It's now been another week without a response! Should I give her the benefit of the doubt and call again? Do I try another PVP? I don't want to be rude or be a pest, but I am a little surprised at her not wanting to book another cruise for us. How would you handle this? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I'd just book on-line at the Carnival web-site. I've never used a PVP or a travel agent.

Just do as I have had to do in the last few days. go with someone else. I have called and emailed my PVP since before Christmas, with no return call yet, so I just wrote him off. Talked with Carnival today, and told them I wanted someone that I could talk with about any problem that I might have. The Gentleman they put me through to in the Resolutions dept had it all cleared up in less than five minutes. He even will book our future cruises! Again, it boils down to slacking on the job and being inept at their job. I don't have the time to babysit these kind of people, so I just move on, and find someone who can handle the job.

Are you using a PVP (Personal Vacation Planner - did this person initially call you at some time in the past, when you started your relationship) or are you using a CVS (Cruise Vacation Specialist - a person that answered your call when you dialed their 800#)? If it's a PVP, good luck. From reading these boards, it seems for the most part (like in all things with life, some are exceptions) they are VERY hard to get a follow up with after booking with them.

 

We've used the same CVS for the last 5 years, and have always been able to get a hold of him or someone in his department. Anyone at Carnival can book your reservation, so if you're ready to secure it, call their 800# and start a new relationship. We've never had bad service from anyone who answered there.

I just started working with a new PVP (my last girl isn't with Carnival anymore) and I've only had to leave a message once and she got right back to me. She even answered my call one time to tell me that she was in the middle of a booking but would get right back to me. I booked this trip 3 weeks ago and have spoken to her at least 5 times since. So I guess that it's all about who you end up with. I really think mine is great.

 

To the OP, I would call 800-819-3902 and request to speak to a new PVP if you aren't getting the response that you think that you should. Good luck.

I was reading on CCL forum/board and came across a recommendation for a PVP that went out of her way for her customers...called her up and she has been great! Poor woman needs a raise with all the questions and changes I have made:eek: She has the patience of a saint and I cant thank her enough for all that she has done...

I think with any situation there are going to be good and bad ones..so I would request a new PVP, if you want the name of mine just let me know and I will give you my email addy or vice versa:)

We love our PVP - she is great about returning calls and e-mail. Even though a few times I have had her price out Carnival trips and then ended up booking another line, she is HAPPY to answer my questions and grateful for my business....if only I could book all Worlds Leading Cruiseline trips through her (Costa, HAL, Princess....)

I have used my PVP for 2 cruises over the last 3 years, and she is also excellent!!! When I sent her an email one day while she was on vacation, she even checked email and got back to me! Guess it's the luck of the draw, but sounds like there are some very good ones out there...don't give up!:D
