Easterners - Dealing W/ Time Change

The 4 hour time change wasn't as much of a problem going to Alaska as it was coming home. We woke up at 3am AK time the first morning, even after the tiring trip getting there. Bring some breakfast bars or the like to snack on until breakfast time if not immediately boarding your ship, especially if you have kids.

The time difference worked to our advantage for early tours, but we were in bed pretty early the first few days. We had more of a problem after getting home - really hard to get up. Glad we gave ourselves some recoup time before getting back into the daily grind.

I live in the central time zone, so the 2-hour time change isn't that big of a deal if starting in Seattle or Vancouver. I think the long day of traveling each way is more tiring than the time change. I try to adjust to the new time zone right away, rather than keeping to the sleep pattern I would have if I were at home,
