Boxer Lover Posted February 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We are going to Alaska on Radiance in June. I'm so confused on which one to take. We can only do one flight excursion, so would you choose the Misty Fjord or a Glacier landing or the Dog sledding with helicopter tour? We will be in Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway. Thanks for any input. Brenda
Budget Queen Posted February 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2008 If the glacier dog sledding is on your list, then you can do both a regular glacier helicopter landing and Misty Fjords float plane for just a little more. If an option, I suggest you do both. :)
Boxer Lover Posted February 18, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Thanks for the input. If you had to decide between the glacier landing and the Misty Fjords floatplane, which would you choose? Thanks
Buccaneergirl Posted February 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2008 I've done all three and I think the best was the glacier landing. We had more time in the air than when we did the dog sledding excursion, but if you can do the floatplane I would choose that as a 2nd choice as it is a totally different experience than the helicopter. The link to our pics from the floatplane and dog sledding is in my signature below.:)
Budget Queen Posted February 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2008 My preference only, I give an edge to a glacier helicopter landing.
cjnky Posted February 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2008 No way could I pick between the two!! As buccaneergirl said, they are totally different experiences! Unless you know you'll be returning to AK, I'd give up something between now and then to save up enough to do both.
