I am planning to sail on the Star August 17, 2008. I am looking at the Emerald deck and wonder about noise from the deck below. Would this deck be a good choice, I know most of the cabins are obstructed view but I wonder about the public areas below and if there is a noise problem. What about inside cabins on the Aloha or Baja deck. We are a party of 5 with 4 adults and one child and are looking for two cabins at an ecomomical rate but a good cabin. Thanks!

I have been on the Emerald deck on the CB and never had any issues with noise. I will be on the Star on 5/18/08, and have a cabin on the emerald deck -I hope that it will be the same as on the CB!

OK, I'll bite...why? Is it because the laundromat is almost directly above it on the Aloha deck? if so, don't book B620 either.

pull out your brochure or do a split screen with the Princess site.

See Lido deck where the Horizon Court is ...go down one deck to Aloha deck...see the blank space next to the Laundry.....

It is THOROUGHLY cleaned from 10:30pm-3:30am

There is a reason the CDC score is so high, because they do deep clean the galley everynight....heavy equipment dragged across the floor, door and drawers slamming and then the big finale is the WATER PRESSURE hose down beginning at 2:45am

E505 and E517 should be OK. We were in E630 recently and it was fine.

A bit of clean-up noise from Sabatini's galley but never enough to keep

us awake. Emerald deck is great if you want to get out on the promenade

in a hurry for pictures.

Thanks c-to-sea. That eases my mind. This is the first cruise for my sister and dad(except for Navy cruising) and I want it to be a good experience for them.

Princess has some of the quietest cabins and there is not a noise problem on Emerald deck. :)

Baja is fine as well, you are sandwiched between 2 cabin decks. :)
