kem Posted February 27, 2008 #26 Share Posted February 27, 2008 Thats disappointing Gleneagle.. we were looking forward to better food! Sorry eskimopie, you can not get an iron, it is a fire hazard and they are simply not allowed on board. Baggies, Wrinkle release all work, I just usually send the ironing, it is not that expensive. Thanks for all of you sharing, we are on March 15 and it's nice to have the info!
avalon1025 Posted February 27, 2008 Author #27 Share Posted February 27, 2008 On our last formal night we never recieved our entres at dinner, we left after soup salad and an hour wait. By 10:45 and no entre we left for the show. We found the food in the dinning room very mediocre and no better of worse than any other mass market cruise line. Conrycol Posted February 27, 2008 #28 Share Posted February 27, 2008 Hi. We're sailing on 3/8 southern carribean (our 1st cruise). For those of you who are familiar with the Summit, do they provide a hair dryer & ironing board? Are there laundry facilities on site? Is entrance to the persian garden or use of the thalasotherapy pool additional? And regarding the aquaspa cafe? Is that included as well or additional? What about beverages i.e. smoothies and such at the aquaspa cafe? And finally, how are you transporting your luggage from the cruise terminal to the airport? Our flight isn't until late afternoon. Is there a luggage storage in San Juan? Thanks for your help. When we departed the Summit we had an early evening flight. We used their luggage valet service. For $20 they will give you your boarding passes and check your luggage through to your final destination airport. You do have to walk your own luggage through customs and then drop it off at the designated area for the luggage service. It was great not to have to worry about the luggage for the rest of the day. And yes all the luggage made it safely home.:)

Abberboo Posted August 30, 2008 #30 Share Posted August 30, 2008 Hi eskiemopie, Yes the do have hair dryers in the bathrooms. They do not have irons and you are not allowed to bring on on board. There are no laundry facalities but the prices of laundry is less than back home. Persan garden cost $100 for the cruise. Basically you get a dry sauna, a wet sauna and a herbal steam room. Think that's it. The thalasotherapy pool is free as is the Aqua Spa Cafe. They don't have smoothies there that I was aware of For lunch they usually have a cold soup, a vegie entree and 2 fish or meat ones, fresh fruit and 2 deserts. Don't remember too much about their breakfast but everything is low/no fat. As far a luggage, there is a restaurant in old San Juan that will hold your lugage for you. I don't know the name of it but I'm sure they can find it for you on the ship. Enjoy your trip. We had a good time. Just wanted to answer the comment above, the place that holds your luggage is called Barrachina. I have left my luggage there and it was fine, left a nice tip.
