Distance of running track on Mariner

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how long the running track is on Mariner? Also wondering how early you can use it. I think I might get sick of using that treadmill every day.:)

Five laps is one mile.

I believe it is almost always open, except during bad weather. It's best to use it early though, because later in the day, sunbathers tend to move their chairs in the way.

I haven't been on that ship, but a warning just in case. On our first cruise on the Jewel, I was horrified to discover that the running track goes through the smoking area of the deck. Even at 6a.m. there were people out there smoking. Same problem on the Explorer. I was training for Boston, so I didn't relish running 8 or so miles on a treadmill! (I believe they were both supposed to be 5 times to the mile, but based on my time, they were a bit short)

have fun!

Definitely go early, once the crowds get out there, it's really hard to run around folks. Sea days are awful. I just did the treadmill, but was only shooting for 4 miles so that was manageable. And it was kind of fun right after sailaway as we were bobbing along and you occasionally had to grab ahold of the sides to keep your balance. Added a whole new dimension to the boring old treadmill!
