Pontius Navigator Posted February 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2008 We are looking at a short 4 day cruise on Artemis. Note what it says about the beds :) For 4 days we can put up with some discomfort and rather like the idea of a cabin on the promenade deck - we love promenade. Any opinions? Druke I Posted February 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2008 While she was Royal Princess, she was our favorite ship in the fleet. I know there was some remodelling done when she went over to P&O, but I was unaware that cabins had been added to Prom Deck. Prom Deck was entirely entertainment venues, etc.
Pontius Navigator Posted February 26, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted February 26, 2008 Thanks Druke, Yes, there appear to be rows of cabins on the Promenade deck.. Quite like the idea as the early monring footfall will drag us out of bed for a quick wiff of briney.
jazzbabe Posted February 26, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2008 :D We have found our double bed very comfortable--no trouble nodding off at any time ! The cabins on Promenade deck have one way windows-you can watch people but they:) :) can't see you. The Entertaimrnt venues are one deck below. Have a lovely cruise--we are sailing for Montego Bay on 30th October--can't wait:(
jo-b Posted February 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2008 We have had a promenade deck cabin twice P110. It is fine, we had the bads as twins as it is much easier to get in and out of and leaves more room in the cabin. The safe is minute and thin so only enough to hold documents really, and it is at the back of the wardrobe! Cabin itself was quite roomy, and the window has got film on so you cannot see in in the day time BUT at night if you have all the lights on in the cabin AND if someone looks closely enough then you can see some movement in the cabin. Some photos on here (it had not changed on our cruise this year other than a new bathroom tap and duvets on the beds not blankets) http://web.mac.com/jo.bloor/thebloors_/Artemis_Med_2005.html
Pontius Navigator Posted February 27, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted February 27, 2008 Thanks all. Signature duly amended :) . It was not too difficult to convince Mrs PN that 4 nights at sea was less hastle and cheaper than flying to Guernsey, 4 nights in a 4-star hotel, but having to buy all your meals. Rare Host Sharon Posted February 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2008 New mattresses and bedding were added in her refit last December. Now has the Egyptian cotton sheets and duvets instead of blankets.

StLucia Posted March 30, 2008 #11 Share Posted March 30, 2008 Hi ships Cat, just looking at the new 2009 cruises from P&O and thinking about doing another long one taking in Cairo. wonder what the Eastern Med is like in October? We have been in the Western med 2 Octobers is a row. In 2006 the weather was glorious but in 2007 it was terrible, we froze in Florence and Pisa! Doing transatlantic this is year so hopefully we will get some sun in the Caribbean if not on th crossing.
