JsMom2 Posted February 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2008 DD and I are on the Crown Princess in June. Are the 10 year olds allowed to sign themselves in and out of the kids club? Also, does anyone have any feedback on the Shockwaves kids program? Thanks!
Mercury Posted February 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2008 Try also posting your question on the family cruising board. There are extremely helpful people there who are very knowledgeable on cruising with children. :)
blueclawfan Posted February 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2008 we just came off the crown in feb . we sailed with my 10 year old grand daughter. The answer is yes they can. We didn't elect to do this because though we were on the ship I didn't know who was traveling on the ship. Its a personal choice. My granddaughter loved the kids areas. have fun

mjmalino Posted March 1, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2008 We've only been on the coral, but I think that the kids camps are run pretty much the same. As was mentioned, it is a choice to let them sign themselves in and/or out, but if you choose to give them the privileges, you will need to sign a release stating so. My 2 DS (ages 9 and 8) loved it. My 9yo had his game time (ps2), but they also did a lot of other things with them as well. They had "casino" night, karaoke night, jr. ranger program (we were in Alaska), movie night, dinner w/o parents, etc. My 2 DS asked to go almost every time the camp was open. Cruisin' Chick Posted March 2, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2008 As stated above, the parent makes the choice, which is the option for age 8 and above. Our girl was 8 on our last cruise, and we opted for the parent signing her in and out. When the group (then it was called "Pirateers") were playing passenger scavenger hunt, the kids with sign out privileges went out in pairs. Our girl was paired with a counselor. We were eating in the Horizon Court that day when she came up to us and had hubby signed in for "plays chess."
