1030 am flight off the Century in Amsterdam

Recommended Posts

If the ship is on time (which it usually is) and if you can get off the ship as one of the first passengers, yes you might make it.

Taxiride - depending on traffic - will be about 30 minutes.

Due to security at the airport most airlines want passengers to check in (going to the USA) at least 3 hours prior.

So it is close. If there is a later flight, you better take that. Schiphol airport has nice facilities with many taxfree shops, a small Rijksmuseum and even a casino, so waiting is not that bad.

We sailed on Century last summer (loved it) and our disembarkation went very smoothly and quickly but still don't risk it. You have to be in a cab by 7 am to get to the airport. If disembarkation is held up for any reason, you might not get to the airport in time. Unless it just can't be helped, why end a relaxing vacation with a feverish rush to catch an airplane?

BTW, security screening for our flight was done at the door into the departure lounge. It was a very complete screening featuring an interview-- and handled with utmost courtesy and respect. Do all your airport shopping and visit the bathroom before you pass through the screening because once you are in the lounge, there are no shops or bathrooms.

I'm going to cautiously disagree with the last part of this statement. During my last flight at Schiphol, there were restrooms available in every departure lounge. These are actually the gates where the security screening is held just before you enter the plane. You can see quite clearly into each gate (glass walls) and determine whether there is a restroom. I have never not found a restroom at a departure gate in Schiphol.

Enjoy your vacation!

cheers,

Lemur

I spoke to Celebrity Customer service about this issue and was advised that if the flight leaves at 10:30 a.m. or later, there are transfers to the airport available for puchase on the ship. We are flying in two days ahead of the cruise to adjust to jet lag, and on the day of debarkation I'm sure we'll be ready to go home.

Hi I work in terminal in Amsterdam for celebrity.

If the century arrives on the time ( 5.00 am)you should be able to make you flight.

The desembarkation starts around 06.30.

Your can book a transfer on the ship and the bus while you

take straight to airport in appx 25 till 40 min.depending on the traffic.

Its also possible to travel by train.

The trainstation is 10 min. walking or one tramstop number 26 or 16

and the train will take you in 20 min. to schiphol airport.

Hope this is information is useful and you have a great trip!!
