39august Posted March 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Earlier this year folks were reporting main seating was at 5:30 instead of the usual 6. My documents came last week and the dining time is shown as 6 PM. What was the main dining time last week? Hope there are some recent Voyager cruisers who can comment. dixie54 Posted March 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Early dining is now 5:30. 6 would have been better!
Shekim Posted March 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Per our documents dining was 6:00 but our setsail pass showed 5:30. And 5:30 it was...this was on the 2/3/08 Voyager.
*CENSORED* Posted March 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2008 How about late dining, 8:00 p.m.?
buckanear Posted March 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2008 It's a "permanent" change to 5:30 and 8 while the ship is in Galveston. Early seating was always overbooked and many people were very angry. Pushing the 8 seating back to make it more appealing meant that they had to push back the early seating as well. So what happens when she goes to the MED? And more important what about the TA cruises that I am on?

So now you just upset "both" seatings?? I guess booking early to get your time really doesn't matter anymore.........6 is 6!! I know folks.......it's only 30 minutes, not the end of the world......:)

Definitely better to anger all the people who booked early and requested main seating, thinking it was 6:00, rather than those who booked later and weren't able to get their first choice. I would have loved to have had that extra 30 minutes. Dining at 5:30 was too early.
39august Posted March 10, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted March 10, 2008 If we get our requested table for 2, I think we'll just go at 5:45. We don't dally over meals, so this shouldn't impact the waitstaff having to be ready for second seating at 8 PM. Or we may only do formal nights in the dining room.
