DivineDivia Posted March 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2008 Hello: If you arrive to your cruise a day early, will the RC transit service drop you off at your hotel if you did not book the hotel through RC? Also, when does the service normally leave the port to take you to the airport? Any info on this service is much appreciated!:D
Pomperaugrr Posted March 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2008 We generally find that we can get quicker and less expensive transportation by taking taxis to the ports, hotels and airports. Taxi availability has never been a problem at the Florida or San Juan ports. We usually get to the pier much faster by taxi from the hotel and airports. With RCI transport, you have to wait for them to fill the bus at the airport before you leave. When going from the hotel to the ship, we usually get to the pier around 11:30 am, whereas the transport bus does not pick up until closer to 2:00. That's been our experience. wrp96 Posted March 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2008 RCCL's transfers to and from hotels are only available if you book the hotel through RCCL. And as the poster said above, in most ports, it is much better to either use a taxi or a shuttle service than the RCCL transfers.
cb at sea Posted March 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2008 Definitely look at taxis first! The above poster has it right! They are quicker and much less hassle! But, if you booked air and hotel through RCI, they will ferry you to the hotel, and again to the port. If you don't book air, but book hotel, you will take a taxi to the hotel, and RCI's shuttle to the port. Where are you sailing from?--that can make somewhat of a difference!
