Fort Lauderdale taxi and shopping?

Recommended Posts

We are arriving in Fort Lauderdale for a Celebrity Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, I read that the port is only a few miles from the airport and was curious about a few things. Is there a shuttle or is a taxi best bet and cost? With that in mind, I wondered about a liquor store enroute or in the airport and also a store to pick up a case of Pepsi? I could travel with all this ( pack the liquor and carry on the soda) but is there any other reasonable option?, thanks, Rick

the cruise terminal is quite close--not more then 10-12 min traffic getting to the port --i would take a taxi cause its the easiest--fare 10-12 i would guess--ask the cab driver to stop at a liquor store so you can make your purchases

We asked the taxi driver to stop at the nearest store to pick up Pepsi. Are you flying in on a Sunday? Dont know if STate stores are opened then. Better find out before you get there.

  • 5 months later...

For anyone that has had the taxi stop enroute,do they stop and restart the meter or does the liquior suddenly cost 5-10 bucks more??? I was thinking of stopping on the way to my hotel the day before my cruise so I wouldn't have to go back out.
