How are passengers dressed in the evenings on Alaska sailings--Sport coat/tie or more casual for men?

You really won't "need" a tie, though you might want to wear one for a bit more upscale feel. Also, it is nice to wear one in the specialty restaurants, though they will not remove you if you are not wearing one. It takes no room, so bring one.

Does your Alaska cruise have formal and informal nights? Ours (in May) has both -- looks like we have to pack more formal wear (we don't enjoy formal nights -- just kinda put up with them -- the food seems to be extra special on these nights).

TC2, your cruise is not an Alaska cruise, though it goes to Alaska. It has a number of continental stops out of SFO, so it really doesn't apply to the inquiry. (It is a nice itinerary though...and I like formal nights.)

oN THE SHIP DRESS IS SIMILAR...fORMAL...Coat Ties....on the Land Cruise-Tour wear woodsy clothing...:D
