Help! Do I

 

 

A. I choose to pay my onboard charges in the currency of my card.I choose to use Royal Caribbean International's currency conversion program. (See terms below.) This currency conversion transaction is based on wholesale exchange rates collected from Bloomberg plus a 3 percent international currency conversion fee. My choice to have charges billed in the currency of my card is final.I accept that the exchange rate used will be the rate in effect at the time the amounts are charged to my card without further consultation.

B. I choose to have my credit card issuer convert my onboard charges to the currency of my card in lieu of participating in the Royal Caribbean International currency conversion program.(See terms below.)

If I opt for my charges to be converted by my credit card issuer, or if my card is not billed in one of the billing currencies listed, my charges will be processed in the onboard currency (USD) and the issuer of my card may charge a service fee for currency conversion

Sounds like you need to contact your card issuer and find out what fees they charge to do the conversion, and then see which is more toyour advantage. EM

I see you are from Texas, so what currency is your credit card? The ship bills in US dollars. For people with foreign currency credit cards, it's almost always to your benefit to have the ship bill you in US and let your credit card do the conversion. The ship usually takes a couple % more than what the credit companies do.

If you are from Texas, your credit card will be in US dollars and this doesn't apply to you. This applies to people with non-US credit cards. From reading many posts on the RCCL board, non-US people should have their credit card compaies do the conversion. RCCL has a bad habit of doing the conversion themselves no matter which box you check. People have to fight with RCCL to undo the conversion so they can have their credit card co. do the conversion.
