tontok Posted March 21, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Hello all, We are considering taking a float trip through the eagle preserve in Haines when we are there this June. While I know that the best time to be in that area is in October, is it still worth the time and expense to go to the eagle preserve in June? Will we spot other wildlife? The two excursions that we are considering through Carnival are the "Eagle Preserve Float and Scenic Cruise" and the "Eagle Preserve Wildlife River Adventure". Both are 6 hours and I cannot really tell from the description the difference between the tours. Has anyone taken these tours? All info greatly appreciated. Budget Queen Posted March 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2008 With a selection of the raft trips, you are best to be going for the scenery and not the wildlife. You will see some eagles, don't expect any other wildlife. Overall, less than 25% of the trips see any, and this includes sightings of way off "moose dots". :) It is a decent scenic tour. I have jet boated and rafted independent.
