Getting to Whittier how do you do that?

Is ther an airport? Or do you fly into another city and take a bus etc??

If you are cruising southbound you fly into Anchorage and take a transfer to Whittier. You can use the cruiseline's transfer (bus or train) or do it on your own. If you are cruising northbound you disembark in Whittier and take a transfer to Anchorage and fly home from there.

The cruiselines will sell bus transfers. There are independent shuttle bus options, listings http://www.anchorage.net And there is the Alaska RR.

A significant decision to make, is to how to use your day. I never recommend rushing to get on the ship. You can do a full day of touring if you wish, and also consider the excellent Prince William Sound boat tours out of Whittier, grossly better than anything you will see from your ship.

Hey BQ, how about some suggestions on those PWS boat tours? I searched this board and can't seem to find any, I'm probably giving up too soon. We arrive in Anchorage the night before our cruise and the ship leaves Whittier at 9:30pm so we need to get from Anchorage to Whittier before we can do the tour ;) . Thanks in advance! Your expertise is irreplaceable!

We would like to do a day cruise on PWS prior to boarding the ship, but didn't know what to do with our luggage. Any thoughts/experiences?

I think I read that PWS will hold it for you. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong ;) .
