HappyCampers3 Posted March 30, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2008 Can anyone share their experience of Rum Point? What are the taxi fares and how much time does it take to get there? Are taxis waiting to transport people back to the tender pier?
drew sailbum Posted March 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2008 Taxis are not waiting at Rum Point. If you take a taxi there you should arrange your return trip in advance. It may be most practical to pay the taxi driver to wait. Cheaper still is to rent a car and drive yourself. Typically this will cost less than cab fare one-way to Rum Point. Are taxis waiting to transport people back to the tender pier? I'll second Drew's advice...make your return trip arrangements in advance, or better yet, rent a car for the day. The trip to/from Rum Point takes about 45 minutes and costs about $75 US - EACH WAY.
cruisediva07 Posted March 31, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2008 Has anyone on the board every gone to Rum Point by cab? Would it be hard to get a cab to come back for you? How much would they charge to wait for you on top of the $75 each way? Thanks in advance. :o
CaymanCruiserz Posted April 1, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2008 It's much cheaper and more flexible to rent a Jeep from Cayman Auto, right there near the pier. We did that a few months ago. Worked out really nice. We were able to do a little extra exploring too! Enjoy! You won't be sorry!
