5fathom Posted April 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2008 I know this has been covered somewhere on these boards but I can't locate it so I hope someome can help ! We are planning a three stay in San Francisco prior to our Alaska cruise. We have heard about the Tuscan Inn and Frommer's reviews indicates it's a nice place. Is anyone familiar with this Inn ? Is the area safe for walking ? How would you recommend we get to the pier from the hotel. We really want to stay in the Fishermans Wharf area. Thanks for your assistance ! Coreopsis Posted April 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2008 I know this has been covered somewhere on these boards but I can't locate it so I hope someome can help ! I have stayed there - very nice, boutique feel. Yes, nice safe neighborhood. Getting to the pier? Well, kind of depends how much luggage you have - it is about a 1/2 mile to pier. All flat, easy walking. Or you could take a taxi. Type in the address in Google - when it comes up in the search, click on the address that says maps.google.com - you can also get directions and see your route to the pier. krca11 Posted April 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2008 It's a small boutique hotel but has a wonderful restaurant and is in a great area close to Fishermans Wharf. We've stayed there 5 times.
lara h Posted April 22, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 22, 2008 Although a Best Western it is like a boutique hotel as previous posts have indicated. It is in a safe neighbourhood and has a supermarket right across the road for little conveniences (we brought all we needed for breakfasts there). The rooms are on the small side but very clean and comfortable. It is in a fantastic position for walking to Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39 and is just a 10 minute walk to the port. There was a large group of cruisers when we stayed there so I'm sure you'll gt more replies (if you need any!)
