cali-croozer Posted September 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2004 Yes......you can rent for the day or for the entire cruise. Not sure of the price, though. I think $10 for the day?
coevan Posted September 30, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2004 You can rent snorkel equip for $10 a day or $25 for the trip. I guess if you snorkel every port it is worth the weekly rental.

Yes, you can rent equipment aboard the ship, but I think it's intended for use in the water.:D
SevenVII Posted October 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2004 Rent it for the week, and just snorkel in the pool during at sea days!

cantw82cruise Posted October 1, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 1, 2004 On our last cruise (Miracle 04/04) they said they only have 200 sets and 1500 guests so go to the shore desk early if you want a set.

staylor Posted October 1, 2004 #10 Share Posted October 1, 2004 www.sportmart.com has sets for $29.00. It might be worth the investment, especially if you are thinking of paying $25 for the week. We got Body Glove sets at Sam's that were inexpensive and have lasted for years. I feel more comfortable biting into a snorkel that has not been used by others. Just a thought. Another good site is www.diversdirect.com. Enjoy your snorkeling!:)

cali-croozer Posted October 1, 2004 #12 Share Posted October 1, 2004 We brought our own snorkels and masks last cruise.....but between 4 pairs of water shoes and the masks/snorkels, it took up alot of room in our luggage. Next time, I think we'll just rent, on shore, as needed. If you're worried about germs, I know some people just buy a snorkle...they're inexpensive and easy to pack. Also, if you buy a mask before you leave, try it out (pool/bathtub?) to make sure it doesn't leak. Everyone's face is different. We had to buy 3 different brands for the 4 people in our family to get good fits. However, every time we have rented/borrowed on shore or excursions, the masks are much better even though they might not look it. The difference between recreational and professional equipment? cali-croozer Posted October 10, 2004 #15 Share Posted October 10, 2004 New snorkel to keep - good; higher price - bad. Oh well, I guess we'll be packing our equipment again next time.
