Barbados Beaches

As all Barbados beaches are public beaches, I assume you can sit or walk along any beach.

I notice some people rent chairs and assume that is because they like sitting on chairs, as distinct from having to rent chairs to use the beach.

Yes, as long as you can get to a beach, it's public. I say that as more and more beaches are being crowded by condo's and leaving little room for public access. And yes there are some you just can't get to easily because of rocks etc..

But as they are all public, regardless of the type of residence that sits on the land side, you can sit, walk, stroll, do whatever (well almost whatever) on any beach in Barbados.
