downrunner Posted April 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2008 My DW and I are going on the Star Princess to Alaska on the 4th of May. The bottom line is that my significant other half (of 38 years) loves to paint with water colors and I might add is very good at it. The problem is that there is very little imformation as to what classes are offered in the "Scholarship at sea" program and if this happens to be one of the classes offered. If it is, would one bring ther own paints and brushes or exactly how does that work? Any imput to this Quandry would be greatly appreciated. Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted April 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2008 We have encountered Artists at Sea only on some Celebrity ships. When they've been onboard, they're really very good, and it is great to take their classes for free. But even booking on Celebrity is no guarantee you're going to have a teaching artist on your ship. Spikesgirl Posted April 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2008 The closest thing to any sort of painting would be the tee shirt or ceramics classes. The tee shirt, they give you a preprinted shirt and paints and a brush and let you at it. Same thing with the ceramics, you select a piece and then paint it. In both cases there is a small fee and they provide everything(paints and brushes). Neither had watercolors though. Sorry! Charlie
