Panama Canal Tour Q

That is right, 179.00 pp.!!

I can tell you my DH and I thought it was worth it. We were fortunate that is was Holy Week and not much traffic on the canal. We went right through so it was not a long day for us. I had read where the bus ride was so long, but it was only 70 mins. for us. We did not have a box lunch, they had a buffet set up in the bottom of the ferry. Nice! Plenty of pop and water too. Beer was 2.00.

I agree with all the other posters - $179.00 per person. But it was awesome. Took us all day and longer as we had to wait for traffic in Canal to clear. Nice buffet lunch and plenty of pop and water. We were two hours later getting back from tour as traffic in canal slowed us up and then there was a traffic accident. If this had not been a Carnival Tour we would be playing catch up with the ship.

Hello, can anyone who has taken Carnival's Panama Canal Tour please tell me the cost?

Also, I assume it is the same for adults and children...

Thanks in advance.

We paid $175 per person in 2007. It may have gone up since then.

We did it in July. It was a very loooong day. We had to wait for a tanker to pass and the ferry stood still for 45 minutes. It was extremely hot and humid. The A/C on the ferry didn't work. There were some very unhappy people on the excursion that day.

We also got back to the ship a few hours late.

If you're going to do this, do it through Carnival. At least they will wait for you if you're late getting back.

We went on this tour in October, 2006. This is not a tour for younger children-be sure that your children really want to go. Carnival warns you that this is not a children's tour. Some people on our excursion did not heed the warning, and were very sorry they dragged their children. Once you have been through one lock, the others are pretty much the same. As other posters have stated, the tour can be very long. Our tour lasted 12 hours, so be prepared that this tour may last that long. The bus drivers are crazy, so expect a wild ride, especially coming back from the Panama Canal.
