clackey Posted April 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2008 No need to do the break. You can walk to the beach from the bus stop. Beers are a couple of bucks. They will bring them to you on the beach. Great food at Le Saint Bonnet on the Malecon (main street). If you want something less crowded, I would suggest a trip to Reef Yucatan Resort. Fantastic pool, nice beach, side trip to Xcambo Ruins and an open bar. You can book it at the bus stop. There are several threads on this board that have pictures and reviews. I'm really surprised that Hdawson didn't send you to Merida. What's going on H? Are you slipping?;)
SS4UA Posted April 13, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2008 I haven't been there either but I was also told that you would come out better to just go to the beach and buy your own drinks. I will be in Progresso on April 28th. I'm also trying to make plans for the day. Sharon
markliman Posted April 14, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2008 My wife and I will me going there as well on the 28th of April. I was curious if anyone would know if going kayaking at Uaymitun would be worth it and how far is it for a cab ride. Just trying to find things to do besides the excursions that the ships try to gouge you on.
