Just popping on to make a post to say that we are ALL having a wonderful crossing!

Marja (SeabournNail) arranged for a nice informal get together at the Sky Bar so we could all put names to faces.

The weather has been beyond beautiful! Getting cooler, but nice, gentle seas so far....

More later! Tonight is formal night #2 and the repeaters party.

PS - Martha - the shears have been open each day at lunch! Your tete-a-tete with Pam paid off! :D

So happy you posted! I've been wondering about the Legend Castle Crossing and the Sailor's aboard! Glad to hear King Neptune has been kind to you with smooth seas.:p

Doesn't it make a huge difference having light in the dining room? Even the sweet waiters have a 'lit skip to their steps! We were not so lucky on our Pride Cross ~~Deck Boy's had to place the heavy metal port guards up the second day out of Ft. Lauderdale. The seas were so rough and were totally unpredictable.

Please post when you have a few minutes ~~~

Tell Marja I send big hug's to she and Rene ~~also a big hug for you and all the other Legend Sailor's!

Ahoy Matt,

Thanks so much for posting and it's great to hear that you're having such a smooth crossing! My wife, two teenage sons and I were on the Legend two cruises ago (Caribbean Charms, 3/23-3/30) as Seabourn newbies and I've been dreaming of Seabourn ever since.

If you happen to run across our new Seabourn friends John and Sue from Darbyshire, please give them my best. They had the suite next to our sons' suite (my wife and I were two decks up) and they couldn't have been more gracious and charming. They swore they never heard any noise from our sons' suite!

Enjoy the formal night tonight and lift a few glasses at the Sky Bar (say hi to Christian too) for all of us stuck back here on land!

NO NO Jane......we are not sailing in 26 days :( ......our next cruise is only for 26 days :( ....next year....The Baltic.

LOL! There's hardly any reason to pack for 26 days. You can do that with a carry-on! I imagine you will figure out a way to extend it; you can always fly to the Med and try out the Legend after the Pride in the Baltic.

A few news tidbits....

Last night we had to change course so we can be closer to the Azores due to a potential medical air-lift that may need to take place.

We'll be arriving in Funchal a day early and staying overnight. This is to ensure we get to Lisboa on time....

We will actually be disembarking in Setubal Portugal instead of Lisboa, due to the drydock taking place after this cruise. Everyone must be off the ship by 7:30 AM! We will then be transferred to the Lisbon terminal via coach where upon we'll undergo normal immigration...

Granny - I am not a trivia participant, but it's very well attended, each day they haul stacks and stacks of deck chairs into the Midnight Sun lounge. Also, many discussions and preparations are made at the Sky Bar just before the sessions start.

JaneBP - Hello!

Martita - Paul (Crystal808), and I assumed command in your spot in the King Olav Lounge last night for the Club Party. I thought you wouldn't mind.... ;)

John in Chevy Chase - If I see your son's british neighbors I will certainly give a shout out!

Sorry to hear of the ill guest ~~surely hope they won't need to be air-lifted. All the best and get well wishes sent to him/her.

Please say a "Howdy" to Captain Tom T. Also congratulations upon his marriage in August, in Norway. What a guy!

Is Lucca aboard? And cutie Ross? Who's the Hot Man? Has Eric DeGray returned? If so, I send them "kudos.":p

Be sure to go to the Old Town Market ~~JB and I went a couple of weeks ago ~~bought loads of beautiful fresh flowers and I bought the "ugly fruit" and a monster red pepper (tasted like candy) for our Sky Bar tasting. Also bought a big sack of large/long green beans for Cheffy Markus to cook for Miss A.

Tell Crystal Paul I'm happy that he kept my seat warm.......I know the Club party was lovely, as always!

Thank you for taking the time to post ~~~we all enjoy reading of your Crossing adventures!

Just chiming in on Matt’s posts here.

Another lovely morning from the lovely Legend. High is supposed to be around 78 (F.) today and I’m getting a late start at the morning. We’re still rolling a bit, but nothing that could be considered “rough”.

Due to the change of course, we’re not exactly sure what our “Seabourn Experience” may be in Funchal, if we have one at all. No doubt SB will come up with an alternate, if Reid’s Hotel isn’t avaiilable. We’re to be informed when we get closer next week.

No update as to the condition of our guest/crew member who may be medically-challenged. The Captain announced that the condition was stable when he first mentioned the change of course.

All in all, we’re having a wonderful time!

Sorry to hear of the ill guest.

Matt.............yes, please, evacuate that suite by 7:30 AM so she can go into drydock and receive the update. ;)

We passengers sailing on the 3rd from Lisbon were informed (at least I was) there might be a little tidying up on the first few days of the cruise (touch up painting, straightening, etc.).

I was given the option of cancelling, choosing a new itinerary or going.

Mrs. Jack and I chose "going". Continue to have a great time to all. Jack

Yes, that happened to us too when boarding the Pride after drydock in Hamburg. Worked out ok. The changes are so positive with respect to the SkyBar and Veranda. I do wonder if they kept the same new, light-hued beige carpet. Takes a lot of care and cleaning. Let us know.

Jack and Mrs. Jack,

Check out all the new Legend security cameras after the Legend's drydock ~~we were surprised when we boarded the Pride in Oct. to see these mounted around the ship. Especially the one aimed at the Sky Bar!

Have a wonderful voyage!

We are also on this cruise and we notified by our TA via a letter directly from Seabourn and another from him - advising us of possible last minute touch-ups that may be necessary after the vessel is put back into the water. Inasmuch as we have been on Seabourn several times in the past and it seems not out of the ordinary at all to see them cleaning, painting, scrubbing any little and every imaginable spot.... we saw fit to go as scheduled, and feel they are just trying to let you know there MAY be some minor work still ongoing. The change in the planned stops was, I think because of turmoil and unrest in Morocco and in particular in Casablanca several months back and Seabourn is simply opting on the side of caution. Cadiz, should be a lovely place to visit in its stead and the side trips including the one to Seville will fill the void of the one its replacing. Trip should be fine. Rene'

Good evening from the Legend!

I've just returned from my cabin from Eric's show in the main lounge. I'm happy to report he sounds great, and enthusiastic in his approach. Ok, it's geared to "the masses", but he embraced it, ran with it, and was very successful. It was nice to hear him sounding so good.

An update on the injured passenger (only from overhearing several comments on board, nothing "official" yet). Apparently a gentleman has fallen in the atrium stairwell area and broken his hip. Along with the ship's doctor, there happens to be a bone specialist on board, and he is conferring with the ship's doctor as to the care and treatment of the guest. Unfortunately, it seems his wife is in a wheelchair, and that raises speculation about an airlift next week. No "official" word, but I am sorry for the situation for him, and his wife. I'm sure Seabourn will handle it the best way they deem appropriate. If we hear more concrete news, we will report it.

I also have a sad tale to report. The unthinkable has raised its ugly head upon our crossing. Sometime today, at the Sky Bar, there was a kidnapping! Apparently, a much-beloved owl & pussycat, belonging to the Watson family aboard, were kidnapped from their perch at the Sky Bar mid-afternoon. To make matters worse (!), this very evening was the 33rd anniversary for the Watsons. Imagine their heartbreak & feeling of helplessness! As of this evening, no ransom had been submitted, and it put quite a damper on the anniversary celebration of Sean & Hazel, as you can only imagine!

We are hoping for the safe return of the two-some; although Security was requested for a briefing, I'm unsure if the meeting has taken place yet! We decided that a call to the Cyber-Police (Cruise critic) was in order.

Please keep Sean & Hazel, and the owl and beloved pussycat in your thoughts! Next to the broken hip, they are our next concern!!! ;)

We lose even another hour this evening. The seas have been kind, although unrelenting in pitching. The weather has been extraordinarily good, as well.

Rolling merrily along toward Funchall....

Paul :) ;)
